I tried to search for this on here, but didnt find any success. I am new to the 450s and I am checking my valve clearances. I have heard the valves need to replaced and i have heard they dont need to be replaced by different people. I was hoping someone could tell me how you know if the valves need to be replaced. I know how to check for clearances and adjust with the shims but i am concerned about them needing to be replaced and how i would know if that was the case. please help.

is that inchs or mm's? because the stock specs are like .10 to .17 mm for intake and thats alot more than .003 in differences.

Also if i do need to replace them. do i replace oem or do i get aftermarket? which would last longer?

I think what he meant was if it takes more than .003" to get them back into stock spec, the valves are done.
