I just got a call saying Harold was hit by a bike at Whitney and needed to be lifeflighted out.
Early report is broken leg, maybe both, collarbone and possible internal injuries
Again, this an early trackside report. So keep that in mind

I think he was just letting people know more of what happend.
He was awake and alert when he left
ama flagger training at its best?
He was on the track shooting photos so how do the AMA flaggers have anything to do with this? How is it their fault. Its a hazard that comes with the job. We all know the risks out there and we also do our best to see everything thats happening around us.
I never shoot a photo with only one eye open. One is looking thru the viewfinder and the other is seeing what else is going on.
From the reports it sounds like he had his back turned to the action and was going down the landing of a jump.. Stuff happens like that and riders get out of control once in a while. He should have never turned his back unless the track was clear. He made a bad judgement at the wrong time.
Nothing the flaggers could have done to save that from happening.
Sorry to hear about Harold and I hope he is ok.
i was referring to this statement homey....it made it seem like he was actually on the track......bu that might be a stretch to assume that from tose words....my bad!

"Leigh Ann talked to Layne for a minute. It happened early this morning and she just found out at about 3:00. I think she said he had a broken lower leg, crushed ankle, broken thumb, hand and lots of ribs. There may have been more. They are planning on putting casts on and flying him home for the multiple surgeries that he is going to need."

I been hit by a bike or 2 when I'm either filming or shooting.
It's a risk we all take out there. No way it can be a flagger issue (I'm not there but just a logical assumption).
Stuff happens like this and yeah, it sucks for sure.
Pit Row
I walk backward more than most people. (Photo joke.)
Please update.
That sucks for Harold. My thoughts are with him.
I've had my share of close calls on the track but so far.....well you know.
Get well soon Harold.
