You said yourself that the modern KKK is inept. So yeah, they are the same thing. The Black Panthers at least get idiots to defend them even after calling for the deaths of white babies. So in that sense Id say they are a smarter, more effective KKK. Were they as bad as the KKK in the worst days? Of course not. But compare modern to modern and there isnt much difference.
