Interested in opinions on these Emoto bikes. What would be the best value based on your experience?
Lightly Used (less than 20 hours) Gen 1 (2017-2019) KTM FreeRide for ~$4500
New 2023 KTM FreeRide E-XC - $6K OTD
New Surron Ultra Bee $5800 OTD
This is more for play moto, pit bike, and hunting. If I'm riding MX, I'm on a full ICE 350F or 450F (or Stark down the road).
Budget is <$6K. I'm having a hard time mentally justifying paying $5-6K for a Chinese made dirtbike.....not to much the motor, but frame, suspension, brakes, wheels, etc. Only thing scraing me on the KTM is, if a new battery is needed, they run about $3200 (ouch). WTF, it's a battery. So much for electric upkeep being cheaper that ICE.....
Don’t be afraid of the Surron, I own one, and know of 4 others locally, all have been problem free. Mine has done several E class hare scrambles, 2 of the others are owned by a local track and riding park owners kids that are fast A riders that ride the shit out of them.
As for the cost, if you buy directly from China, there’s a significant cost savings, but the downside is it took 2 months to get mine. I was of the belief the cargo ship leaves China and heads to USA, but not true. It traveled all over the world before coming here, but you can track the ship throughout its route, with dates given. It’s also a bit nerve racking sending $4500 overseas and just waiting. What I did was found a lady with several reviews from people that bought from her and received their bike, so I was comfortable enough to give it a shot. Everything worked out and for being a Chicom special, it really is well built.
