I got lucky enough to snag a ticket to a private ride day charity event at Cahuilla Creek with Jeremy McGrath and Phil Lawrence this past weekend.  It was a great experience riding with a childhood hero and was really cool he took the time to help out with the charity.  They say never meet your hero's but Jeremy and Phil were awesome, helping out with new riders and kids. Plus, as someone who can only get out to ride a couple times a year having the entire main to myself was a pretty awesome experience.  Track was awesome weather was great, what an epic day!  Normal track days are gonna have a lot to live up to now.

So awesome, love MC. He is the #1 reason I got into MX. I used to stare at the Austin Powers themed YZ catalog from 2000 for hours and hours wanting a YZ80 so bad to be like MC. I read his book when it came out cover to cover, couldn't put it down! In 2005 I got asked if I wanted to work trackside at the 2005 Houston SX sweeping off tuffblocks between races. MC was in the tunnel leading into the track during some downtime before the night show, the guy that got me the gig asked if I wanted to talk to MC. I was super nervous of course but MC took a few minutes to talk to me and shake my hand, he asked me what kind of bike I had, what class I raced, etc. and he was genuinely asking and interested, not just going through the motions. I'll always remember that and always be appreciative for that. It may have been a small act for him, but it was huge for me. Thanks MC, you'll always be The King!

Thats Lit…. As my daughter would say….track looks like a freeway! 450 heaven…. Didn’t think Factory Phil rode anymore….. probably still fast as hell….assuming that was him in front of MC with GoPro on? I was out for the World Vets 5-6 years ago with Champ Factory, we went to this track but it was closed due to wind and cold temps I think? I was bummed…..

That is awesome.  I agree that MC will always be the King.  He opened the door for all of the greats today.  I have to ask.  How surreal was it to be chasing your idol around the track.  That was very cool.  What a great experience.  Congrats!

Yea Phil said he hasn't ridden in a year or so, so I could almost keep up with him the first lap, after that he was looking pretty good! It was in the 50's and it can definitely get really windy here, especially in the afternoon, but wasn't too bad this weekend.
