Hello, i have always been a motocross guy. I have maybe once a year done some enduro riding with my mx bike and never liked it because of the suspension and caracter of the mx bike.
The bike i got, that i bought back i 2008 is a Ktm Sx 250 2008. I have done many updates and revisions on the thing. I love it enough to where i never tought about chaninging from it. Its my forever bike, even if i'm updating for something newer.
Many of my mates are now riding enduro, and i would love to give enduro a fair chance, as i never even tried a pure enduro bike. I got so many spares and nice aftermarket parts for the 2008-2011 chassi, there for my question about it.
What are the reviews on that generation chassi? Is the suspension trash? Should i go for a newer generation? Is it good enough to paint a fair picture of what a "modern" enduro bike feels like? Condition of the bike aside.
Sorry for the bad english, im trying my best

You’ve got a good bike. I had the 07 SXF 250 model with the same frame. PDS shock and CC forks worked good in the woods. Rider triangle of these bikes are modern enough you should be fine.
A very good generation, and dare I say, built with a much better build quality. I know a few people who have put massive hours on them with little to no issues. I had a 2009 XC that was fun to ride.
Concentrate on getting the suspension freshened up and set up for your weight and enjoy. Makes sense to get one if you have a lot of spares from your SX.
I can second on the quality part. I dont have any personal experience with the newer stuff tho, but i know that the SX i got, has always worked like a charm. I will probably pull the trigger on a nice exc 250 2t example. There are alot of good suspension shops in the southern part of sweden, and i bet that when they open the memory drawer of this genereration of ktm's, theyll probably got a good reciepe for the suspension!
I had a 2008 250 exc and loved it. I came off a YZ250 and liked the softer power in the woods. Absolutely bulletproof with no issues too. The only thing I noticed was the PDS shock was occasionally unpredictable in big hits. 99% of the time it was fine but I had a few weird crashes that year that came out of nowhere.

Good intel!
I've actually found a good setting for the PDS on my SX. More sag than anyone recommends, and slower rebound make it really good in my taste. You can sit down out of corners under heavy power, the bumps pack the shock down but it never bottoms out. I only got it right when i went to a Ohlins spring on the WP shock. Cant remember lenght etc on top of my head. The question is if that translates to a exc.
I will for sure throw a NECJ suzuki needle in the carb, holy crap that changed the SX 250!
