Great talent but all those damn injuries....
it would be incredible if Jeff got as serious about it as Mike is. Then they'd both be fighting for podiums
That's just my opinion in what I saw of them at races.
I did however see him practicing and having "something" for Mike.
Also personally heard Jeff upset at the CTI kneebrace rig at Mammoth saying, "If his dad would let him beat Mike he would but his dad didin't want him to and would get pissed if he did."
Also personally saw Jeff beat Mike at a race once and Mike ghost rode his bike into Jeff's in the pits.
Now you can take it for what you want, but I truly feel that dad ruined Jeff's carer before it started.
Like I said it's only my opinion based off things I saw at races growing up. Doesn't mean it's right.
As to the point of Jeff not really "Wanting" to race?
I can't go along with that.
He really was tryin' pretty f'n hard to get past his latest injuries...the damn kid still seems to get off the bike in pain.
to call out roger decoster in the racer x article and say he doesn't know shit is comical rogerd is not a perfect manager but he won both major world titles this year and last. to dis on him is absolutely rediculmous
Ricky Bobby: No, never again.
Cal Naughton, Jr.: You're right. I was like a total dick, man.
Ricky Bobby: From now on, you're the Magic Man and I'm El Diablo.
Cal Naughton, Jr.: What does Diablo mean?
Ricky Bobby: It's like... Spanish for like a fighting chicken.

there is literally more than one story about what happened to Jeff, from Tony AND Mike, if jeff dared to beat mike in anything other than practice. Jeff is also the reason that you hear Tony and Mike spew the bs that Mike isnt very good at SX. Why? because Jeff did, could, and would wax mikes ass on a SX track. And Mikes not very good? hmm, podium the 450 class, alot of top 5s and 10s... hmmm yeah he sucks.
and i expect to be kicked off of vital for life after this post. guyb has already told me...in so many terms.
BUT i think mike is only as poor in sx as his dad has him bullshitted to be, so has his other advisor. 2 against one when yer one against the world is a tough stance to take. i expect mike to fold.
and i also believe mike could win a sx title or come very close....bobbym
That was pretty vague, but it's something.
While Jeff is spending a lot of his spare time with RC cars, they are putting something together for Jeff to get back on the track soon. With their racing shop in CA, they can prepare a pretty good race/practice bike for Jeff so he can get in some hours on a quality bike without being on a team right now.
For those of you that know Mike and Jeff, you know they have very different personalities. Jeff is kind of going back-n-forth from wanting to be out on his own more and wanting to train at home. While Tony feels Jeff''s best rasults are when he trains in their program, he also lets Jeff have some breathing room to step out on his own since thats what he wants to do right now. Trust me, thats not easy for Tony to do, as a father and as someone that is crazy passionate about the sport.
