My favorite part.
jowek70 where are you located?
I'm currently building a 98 KX250 also. Do you have any spare parts?
sorry i do not have anything to get rid of yet, once i'm a bit closer i can probably part with some spares.
little bit of work done today; engine still in boxes and waiting on lower stem bearing seal and gotta mount tires.

Got a free set of Hoosier tires from a friend so i dropped them off with the wheels to get spun on today; ordered some parts for the airbox and other ends and ends so just waiting on thing to show up. If the weather stays decent i'm gonna paint up my engine cases and get the last two bearings pulled from the cases.
Well done!
The wheels powdercoated looks awesome!
It’s looking way too good to ride. What are you planning to do with it?
Definitely gonna put some hours on it; everything i've done i can do again if something gets ruined but i'm not super fast anyways haha.
Didnt think this would be as cool as my last build but i'm really starting to dig it. Guy sold me the wrong year seat but i found one locally for $75 and i need to start on the engine and decided FMF or PC pipe.
Anybody know what part numbers are included in Hot Rods TBK0029?
I'm going to drop my bottom end off at a local shop to get the put together (just the internals as i dont have the special tools) and wondering if its cheaper to order the Hot Rods kit and source the remaining bearings and seals or if i piece meal the bearings/seals from various shops.
TIA.

not sure how accurate this information is for bearing sizes; wish it listed part numbers....
Personally I will only use oem bearings and seals in the bottom end of my bikes. Might be slightly more costly in the long run but the peace of mind is worth it.
Waiting on bearings to show up and then dropping engine to Tom Zont racing to get the bottom end put together; target date is 5/10/24. Had a few minor parts show up and going to get the FMF pipe cleaned up this weekend and repack the silencer. Gotta order a gas cap, stator, fuel lines and possibly a flywheel if this one doesnt clean up well.
should be ripping laps by memorial day.
Dropping engine off Friday!
In the meantime having the seat recovered and sorting out a few small things, going to try to fit aftermarket pegs from another kawasaki.
Got the airbox finished up and the seal bolted on; made a parts list of a few nuts and bolts for the radiators; TZR should have my bottom end back next week; ultrasonic'd the carb; mounted the silencer; polished up the head pipe; brakes are bled; need a stator coil, upper engine mount, figure out my pegs, new grips and get the engine assembled and in the frame and hopefully riding by mid july.
Little behind schedule, but got the bottom end back last night and started assembly; waiting on a few seals and gaskets (inner cluch cover gasket had a hole that was about 2" off) and need to polish up the pipe and should be ready to ride by the end of the month.
Pit Row
Clutch came yesterday so i'll be installing that tonight then putting the engine in the frame. HOping to polish up the FMF exhaust a bit and getting that hung this weekend. Waiting on stator coil yet and gotta put the carb back together and it'll be ready to fire up.
In the frame![]()
Super rad 🔥
Got a few more parts in the mail; waiting on upper engine mount bolts and my reeds/intake. hoping to have this sorted out soon, keeps getting kicked on the backburner...kids and a wife, right?
looking great, keep it up! slow updates are better than no updates
all put back together
waiting on new coil, no spark on first start up try
no leaks though and tons of compression, so far so good
heat cycles tomorrow
Looks fantastic
i'm $3k into this, top to bottom complete rebuild.
It shows. I did a 96 Honda not too long ago and can appreciate your work. Bummer about the spark, hope you get it sorted with just a coil replacement.
Well done!👍
