Any help appreciated,

I have a 2024 crf 450r with about 10 hours on it.

When I try to start it the starter will turn for a second then stop, i have to keep pressing the start button and eventually after around 10 tries it will turn over as normal and start completely fine.

Any ideas ?

Switch contacts could be bad. Trace wires to harness and disconnect, use paperclip and jump wires to see if you get same result turning over

Have you washed the bike with a pressure washer?  I've heard of starter issues resulting from washing the bike with cleaner/degreasers and a pressure washer. I've been told on the Honda ecu's, when you press the starter button, if it does not register rotation from the stator/crank trigger almost immediately, that it will shut down the starter relay.  Even if you haven't agressively washed the bike, possibly could still be a starter issue.  If it is sticking or binding, it may not allow it to turn over initially, and the ecu shuts down the relay until you hit the starter button again.  Repeatedly hitting the start button may eventually break the starter free, and allow it to start, until it sits for a while and becomes stuck again.  No idea if this may be your problem, but just throwing this possibility out there.

If there are no issues with the starter relay, or the starter itself, then the other likely culprit could be the torque limiter.  I forget what Honda calls it, it is behind the clutch.. you have to remove the right side cover to see it.  You can lay the bike on its side, remove the clutch cover, and look up in there with a light.  If you know what you are looking for, you can see it.  If you press the starter button and there is a very slight initial "kick" or movement from the starter, but the clutch basket itself does not move at all, it may very well be the torque limiter slipping.
