I usually have this forum up on my computer in a minimised (smaller screen) view, now all of a sudden the screen has changes and the side and bottom displays (video links and even ads have dissapeared). When I go to full screen everything comes back. It almost looks like it goes to a mobile app screen when I minimise it even a little bit. Is there a way to get the full screen view smaller?

You're correct that it switches to the mobile site when your browser goes below a certain size. We haven't made any changes to that function lately.
It's weird that it just started doing it on Tuesday?
Not sure. Maybe something updated on your computer. We've had that function for many years.
