If I stall the bike while its at running temp like during a race it just does not want to start right back up, it sort of tries but not quite starts right up, usually between letting off the button a couple times or put it into neutral it starts right up. Now I have no issues starting when cold and most of the time if I hit the kill switch the bike starts right up fine.
Bike has about 210 hours on it, I've put 130 of them on it, I've changed the little cone filter but not the in tank fuel filter. It runs perfectly otherwise so id have a hard time believing its a filter issue.
Any ideas? This has killed me in a couple races stalling it in the first couple corners in a harescramble.
I’d start by checking the valve clearance, and if that’s in spec look at the clutch. If the plates are worn past spec, the bike will be harder to start in gear.
I just did a top end about 15 hours ago or so, also checked valves and were in spec. Had this same behavior for quite a while before the top end though.
Clutch measures right in between a new clutch pack and what the manual specs out for replacement thickness, I do have an OEM clutch pack sitting on the shelf currently.

Have you bled the clutch recently? If not I would do that. Does it fire any different when hot and in gear with more or less throttle?
Could the bike be overheating?
I just had low coolant and FI light blinking on 450 and it was hard to start, then impossible to start as the temps got too high.
To be totally clear the bike runs perfectly at all times, it starts right up perfectly when cold. And if I turn the bike off with the kill switch it fires right back up.
If I stall or it flames out as some say in in tight woods or something is when I have to wait a second to get it back going it, its not turning over and just not starting its sounds like it wants to fire up but I have to let back off the starter wait a couple seconds and then it usually fires up.
Interestingly, I made a post in a facebook group and I had about 30 guys say their bike does the same thing. Could just be a newer four stroke thing I guess maybe when they stall out the mapping just gets sort of out of whack for a second.
