Ya, I'm 6'0", 220 and an athletic build (thick shoulders from lifting weights). I couldn't get the damn XL on to even give you an opinion. I also thought it was a little weak as far as protecting the neck if the head was moving forward.

I went with the Leatt for me and our son.

great option if you cant come up with the dough for an actual neck brace, but if you can squeeze another few bucks for an adventure brace, id recommend it. hell ill sell you one as cheap as i can if youre intereted

I'm 5'7", 180 and had the same problem with the extra large EVS. I removed the pad to get it on but couldn't turn my head.

I have an EVS, but I cant turn my head with it on, so I modified the foam adn still did not care for it. I have a short neck and it put to much pressure on my helmet. I went and tried my brothers Leatt and did not like that either.

I was a Bob's cycle supply the other day though and they had some of the Astars in stock and that fits real nice and I even tried a helmet like mine and loved it.

I have the EVS, had to take most of the foam stacks out of it to be able to see far enough ahead but then it was good. Fits pretty comfortably now, and I got used to it. Might pick up the Astar one in the future to be honest, and give the EVS to the wife.

Actually ricocheted off a berm at a private track the other day and ended up cartwheeling in the woods, my head/neck were completely safe during the crash, cant say as much for my bruised thigh though haha

Me and my brother have the Leatt Brace its a little heavy compared to the Alpinestar BN, the only complaint I have with the Astar brace is, there is no adjustment. We purchased one for my dad as a X-mas gift and quickly sent it back for the Leatt brace. The Astar brace looked good but if its any thing like their boots it probably won't hold up.

The EVS Race Collar was the best thing i have ever bought. The Race Collar SAVED, I mean SAVED my life. When I broke my back May 31, 2009 (yes it has almost been a year) I broke my T8 and T11 and the doctor told me if i had not only not worn that brace could i have been paralyzed but killed. I was Blessed to have that Brace on that day. My neck was saved and I only broke my upper back (which no neck brace could have saved). I called EVS when i got home the had me send in my brace where they told me that it was still in 100% condition. No rips Tears or breaks in the brace. This Brace was the best choice and for the price cannot be beat. I recommend this brace to EVERYONE!!!!!! 5 Star Brace By far!!!! I see Leatts break but not the EVS Brace. GOOD CHOICE!!!!
