Probably an extinct group of people? Seems there's a lot of tree huggers in New England since there are NO tracks in the Cape Cod area and the closest one "Capeway Rovers" I don't get when you are able to practice (and it's pricey: $ 40). Also noticed that "The Wick" (like 150 miles away) has like one practice day per month!?!?! I would like to at least practice some before being forced to compete...

Anyone of you know any tracks near Cape Cod and if so have any info about practice dates and so on? Seems to be more tracks up north, but 150 miles to the track is way to much and something you only do a couple of times a year...

I thought riding would be easy here? Sad

The ONLY public track in southeast Mass is Capeway. I suggest you go there, make some friends, and find out where the private tracks are that you can go to. Capeway has races and practices, most of the practices will be announced a little later in the summer. Also, MX 207 in Southern Maine is really nice, lots of practice days, very fun track. Crow Hill is in Templeton, MA, probably 2 hours from the Cape, another fun track with multiple practice days a week.

It is a crying shame how few tracks there are around here, and the Cape is definitely the worst, location-wise. Most riders around there resort to sand pits and private tracks, which are scattered around, here and there. In New England, 150+ mile drives are much more than an annual occurrence for the serious rider.

The Wick has less than 2 open practices per year......and they are well attended and no one can handle it so it's bodies adn bikes across ruts and no parking.

Sounds like a good suggestion. I will try to go there this weekend. I found the other tracks you mentioned, but I really feel the two hour ride is overkill. But if that's the only solution, I'm forced...

Maybe one of those sand pits could be temp solution. Hate to ride solo though.

Tnx for the input.

Southern NH is a better spot to live, there are a few tracks are about an hour or less. Plus the track in this vid would be in your back yard and free. Pretty rough but fun!

As with anywhere else there are a few private tracks in the area also.

I was here the day they filmed this. Very cool watching Trey ride.

Rocky Hill would be closer than Southwick no? It's open Tue-Thurs and Sat-Sun.

There is a practice track in Templeton Mass which is probably about 90 minutes or so from you called Crow Hill.

They are open Tue/Thur from 1:00pm to 8:00pm and Sat from 10:00am to 4:00pm for practice.

Racing family owned and built, nice natural terrain and sand sections.

If you want to try Rocky Hill in CT that is owned by ex Pro Tony Lorrusso and is great track as well but it will be 3 hours for you from the Cape.

Supposedly a new practice place opened last year in Rhode Island which would be very close to where you are, let me check and see what the story is on that.

If you feel like doing some racing Winchester Speedpark in southern NH is where I work.

Two tracks one is a natural terrain MX track and the other is a Supercross track.

We just did a LL's Area Qualifier last week and have a full schedule of racing still to come for the rest of 2010.

Crowhill is good. Not so much so right after rainy weather.

Winchester is great!

Yeah Myke....we heard that Chad is getting more into the family business with his dad and isn't racing so much anymore.

The track in Granville is a lot of fun!

He's a little video I made a couple years ago at Chad's.

Nice video! With snow on the ground too. And when he had the big up and downhill in it.

I have only been on the upper sand track when there is snow there.

A bunch of years ago his track was in a different spot that has houses built on it now.

Well end of an era them closing it. But Chad and his Dad deserve a huge thanks for keeping a place for people to ride there for so long.

Here is another random video I found. Kinda shows how rough the track really is.

Another good air in this one.
