Man...that some pretty heavy stuff, to go from bringing home your first child, to losing a great friend in that short amount of time....i really cant imagine how difficult of a time that was/is.

Steve, did you grab any of those "Sharkey" stickers from the weekend?

That was an "interesting" video....never before I have seen such raw, honest emotion out of a rider before.

Sure I am a huge Reed fan, but to go through all the emotions that he has gone through in the last week, and to have on his mind what he is about to deal with when he returns back to Australia in a few days for one of his best mates funeral and to still put in the ride he put in on the weekend, then all I can say is "awesome job Chad!!!" Incredible really to put in a ride like that under all those circumstances.

Chad Reed.......champion rider and champion person!

A hell of a lot of riders could do themselves big favours by modelling themselves on Chad.

Huge JS fan but I'm rooting for the 22 more and more. I think Chad (even James has said so) has been a little "misunderstood". He is an awesome spokesperson for the sport.

Great interview.

You know whenever the issue of Mike Alessi and his dad comes up I can't help but think of the contrast between him and Chad Reed - the way they've gone about their careers and life decisions, and their respective standing in the sport.

From what I understand, Chad and his father had a fall out making him choose between Ellie and him. Chad chose Ellie obviously and went to Europe together. He came to the states and his father and him were still struggling to get along. He talked about calling him after races and explaining the race to him and his father was always honest and critical of his racing. I'm sure I'm off but I know they have reconciled there situation and I am sure Chad is really happy about that. His attitude has changed and its obvious. Nothing but respect for the man.

Thanks, guys. I thought Chad was extremely generous in that interview. Glad you agreed.

huge fan of Damon Bradshaw, Robbie Reynard, Ezra Lusk and other fast crashers...huge fan of James Stewart derived from that...which makes me a cr22 'hater' but I must say I am coming back around...he was gnarly on his zook last year and doesn't look right on the kawi and finally showed some spark last week. What an emotional month he has had and I have to say that I have a new respect for him. He has been a pain in my fav riders but for years and I would love to see them back at the top and battling with the new blood...
