JDR KTM Motorex teammates Tye Simmonds, Ryan Marmont, PJ Larsen and Josh Cachia all ran #7 front plates during the parade laps after the incident.

Very nice tribute guys. Well done and best of luck to you all for the remainder of the season.

RIP Andrew.

Cant believe that was 10 years ago, I was in the crowd and it was the best of both worlds. An Aussie in the lead and on a 2 stroke in the 500 class to boot! And Burner in 2nd on a near stock CR500.

Great memories.

Id love to see a shot of Andrew's holeshot that day.

So sad to hear the news. Although I never new him personally. I can tell from reading all of the posts on the internet that he was not only a great racer but a wonderful person to be around.

My condolences go out to his family in this sad time.

I have a McFarlane Y.O.T. jersey hanging on my wall (including various others) that I was saving for my sons'... This is definitely the kind of thing that make me re think where I want my boys future to lie, but I truly believe that if he couldnt have died in his families arms, he would have preferred to pass doing something that put his heart at ease.

God Bless

Here are a few I took at the Western Australian round of the '09 MX Nationals, held at AJSMCC, Wanneroo Park.

Here is the memorial sticker as designed by his brother, Cameron:

OK guys I've dug out my old magazines and am busily scanning through about a thousand Sharky pics. I'll start with this one:

1999: Sharky switched from the dealer backed Suzuki to another dealer team - the upstart Star Yamaha team. Sharky started the year doing some local races and even some freestyle events for fun, like the X-treme Games at Surfers Paradise

Little did any of us know it was the start of a couple of dominating seasons in Australia...

1999: Supercross Masters final round at the Sydney Superdome. Sharky posted a 1-2 result on the double header final round. After busting his YZ's footpeg off on the 2nd night, he had to pull his MX practice bike out of his van and prep it in 2 minutes to get into the main. He then went on to finish 2nd to Byrner in the main...

1999 MXdN: one of our most successful teams. Troy Dorron, Sharky and Byrner finished 8th overall

Sharkys results were particularly impressive. In his 1st moto he ran 3rd behind Everts and Windham and only dropped to 4th with 5 minutes left in the race. He settled for a 4th place moto finish, beating home the likes of Pit Beirer and Vuillemin (2nd and 3rd in the 99 250 World Championship), Alessio Chiodi (3 time World 125 champ) and Tortelli. His 2nd moto rsulted in a top 5 start and finishing 7th in the moto, ahead of Beirer and Windham this time. Sharkys results put him in 3rd overall for the 250 class that day behind Stefan Everts and Kevin Windham !!!
