I am guessing NEVER!!!

Hey Cygnus, how funny is it how all the Dungey fans have already handed Dungey this year's MX championship.....

I wonder how Reed, Grant, Short, etc etc feel about going out and just racing for 2nd place???

I wasn't having a go at Dungey. I just thought it was an interesting point!

And as for your other post....RV didn't break his leg because of pressure....He crashed and broke it because he was GOING FOR THE WIN! Like all great champions do!!!

I guess all champions aren't great champions!

The pressure to win caused the RV crash. Everyone wants to blame the jump that he crashed on but the truth is he messed up. Or one would say buckled under the pressure. RV tried to jet ski that jump to stay low and he did not get any lift which in turn caused the crash.

I am a huge RV fan but the pressure got him not the triple he crashed on. Theres nothing wrong with that. He was doing what he had to do but in turn Dungey did close the deal and won the title.

If you want to look at the big picture RV is 1-3 in the finishing the whole series stat since he has move up to the premier 450 class. Dungey on the other hand has a win at the biggest exhibition race in the world and a Supercross title.

So in the end the pressure has caused Dungey to win 2 Lites titles a huge moto win at the Nations and a Supercross Title. Thats 3 titles and A huge moto win in less than a year. Not bad for a guy that is not a great champion or that can't handle the pressure.

WideOpen let's look at some interesting facts here.......

Dungey has 3 titles....

250 SX Title - Won fair and square.

250 MX Title - Was going to finish 2nd until Pourcel's motor blew up!

450 SX Title - All the real title hopes (except RV) out of pretty much the whole season!

So lets see.....2 out of 3 championships were handed to him on a BIG FAT SILVER PLATTER!!!!

Sorry to ruffle your feathers but Dungey ain't no great champion yet!

This is why I said a few weeks back that the Vegas round wasn't going to be as exciting now that the title is wrapped up.

Dungey is more than likely putting all of his time into outdoor testing and training right now.

jmar i disagree. I am a huge Reed fan so I think Vegas will be exciting because I think Chad will turn up and show everybody the "real" Chad is back.

Unless of course he flies back home for McFarlanes funeral and actually misses Vegas. Which I don't blame him if he was to come back to Oz. Him and McFarlane were great mates!

You can look at anyway you want but we live in a STATs don't lie world. Not everyone can be like RC and just destroy the competition. Hell, RV got beat by a Rookie (Canard) straight up for the title in the Lites class. Has that affected his Lites legend. I say no.

There is a story to every title won. RC got a gift in SX in 06. The AMA tried to steal Reeds SX title away from through a bad fuel infraction in 04. Stuff happens. Titles are won by the best guy over 12-17 race weekends.

You seem to need your head pulled out of your arse in this one because I can't seem to walk you through this. Are you a C rider?? 3rd grade dropout??? Theres no doubt a problem with your thinking here. You seem to be one of those cats that can't think outside the box. Work on that and get back to me today.

So which "title contenders" didn't line up on the gate in the 450 class for A1 this year? Just curious.

And if it's so easy to be "handed a title," why haven't more "2nd-rate" riders like Dungey done it? It's easy, right?

i would guess if you were in dungeys position in all those so called lucky championships, that you would just quit before series end.let someone else get the * besides there championship title.

What pressure did he handle with the top ten fastest guys out? The only pressure he has is being scared of J-Law kicking his ass. Dungey should man up and stand up to him, not that he would give a shit, but that would maybe prove his balls have dropped. Overated, I seen one post where someone was comparing him to the goat.... Give me a break.
Wow you really are delusional. I would bet my life the only time RD gives L-Law a thought is when he cuckles to himself that he ever had a "fued" with someone who is such a speck on the motocross scene now. You're right Dungey isnt JG,JS, CR and whoever else you said. None of them are 2010 SX champ

cigAro...you are exactly whats wrong with our sport...everytime the championship is lost for a guy, they decide not to show up...the sport is now about winnign a title or staying home? last time i checked, there is a lot of $ and fame involved in winning races and championships come to those who show up and race back into shape...the problem with the jg, bh, it, bt, js, and many others is that as soon as the title is out of reach they sit at home and then show at round 1 of the next series, crash because they haven't raced in a long time and then sit at home again, your attitude devalues our sport...

if everyone that didn't have a chance at the title stayed home, we wouldnt' have much of a sport would we?

i guarantee Nick Wey doesn't have ur attitued, maybe thats why he is a pro racer and we are not...

Yup,it's people like me that is whats wrong with our sport. Maybe you need to go speak to Dungeys camp and tell them how important it is to push and let it all hang out on 2 bad weathered tracks after he's already got the #1 plate. And im sure after winning that #1 plate,he's out of shape and needs to hurry up and get back in shape.Better yet,I imagine he's broke and starving and needs to win these last races just to survive.

And don't forget to tell the "jg, bh, it, bt, js, and many others" who are sitting out just because their title is out of reach that its attitude like this that is killing our sport.

What a douchebag!

If Dungey were to get injured in the sx series, he would lose a whole heap of out door wins. So in a way he is going for as many wins as possible.

Besides who can blame him for not wanting to push too hard after what just happened to RV.

Being lapped definitely hurt Dungey's pride a little. After KDub lapped him he was trying to unlap himself all the way till the final turn. At first I thought in the final turn that he was gonna go for a block pass on KDub!

Thats a logical answer. You by far are the smartest Aussie here that I've seen so far.
Just ask "halfe316" how Reed is ruining the sport by attending his first childs birth.

It's not like these guys don't have familys and injurys to deal with.

So in the end the pressure has caused Dungey to win 2 Lites titles a huge moto win at the Nations and a Supercross Title. Thats 3 titles and A huge moto win in less than a year. Not bad for a guy that is not a great champion or that can't handle the pressure.

You have GOT to be kidding.
Nothing was handed to Dungey. He didn't crash out, his bike didn't break, and he was the sole survivor. If it was yourself looking at those three #1 plates on the wall-- you think you would see them as "handed" to you? Come on!
I can't believe anybody that has ever raced motocross would make that statement.

leave it to the halfwits to argue with a title.

I agree Bobby! This asterisk bullshit never made sense to me. You can only control what's around you, and Dungey did a pretty good job of managing his season.

As far as T179, I argue with the little RV bag licker on a weekly basis! He's opinionated, but harmless, and still pretty fast for an old fucker, although I have 20 years on the pup!

Some of you guys should visit the non moto section. Your arguing abilities would be tested much better over there..

3 #1 plates, and a healthy end to the season close the door on any bullshit comments from message board pundits. Nice job Ryan, and good luck in the outdoors..

I gotta say all season I was afraid to admit that Dungicle was the fastest rider out there, but guys the last few weeks? No real "champ" to me, and that goes for anyone who doesn't have to ride with James and Chad, sorry. Even though that's exactly what he is. The kid just lost it for me at the end of the season, and how this kid hasn't gotten hurt yet is fuckin crazy! he crashes like a girl, hits the dirt almost every race, and then just gets back on. Lets just say Dungey's plate is being at the right place at the right time,or good things happen to good people, or gotta be in it to win it. I just see a meltdown coming now that he's got pressure, and maybe some real competition on a 450 can show if its given to him again or can he sack the fuck up and lay shit down EACH race... I don't hate the kid, just have a baaaaad feeling.... and you KNOW what I'm talking about too... anyone else feel it?

Hey Cygnus, how funny is it how all the Dungey fans have already handed Dungey this year's MX championship.....

I wonder how Reed, Grant, Short, etc etc feel about going out and just racing for 2nd place???

it's funny cause i seem to remember that Short is always pretty comfortable riding around in 2nd because he hasn't really pulled off any wins really has he? Reed on the Kawi has just not been impressive, Grant can't keep his bike on two wheels, and Dungey has reeled in the last 4 Championships (counting Des Nations) that he has attempted, crazy to think he'll get the job done huh?

Post a reply to: Just wondering about Dungey???
