I've experienced that as well, but it's random. Some posts/thread titles I have no issues editing and others I get the same message you posted.
I sometimes get the message when I want to move a thread to a different area of the site.
I'm only having trouble editing one specific thread.... Maybe it's too old to edit? Is there a cut off for editing?

I can edit this one just fine, as in the one we are posting in now.
There's no cut-off time to edit posts/threads.
I also have no issue editing this thread.

Sorry for the hassle. We have a fix that should be implemented this week. My understanding is that the problem is with threads that have a poll.

Quick update: We have the fix, but it won't be implemented for about two weeks due to scheduling/technical reasons.
FYI - I'm not seeing an edit option/feature on my posts and they aren't in ones with a poll.

This might be an issue on your end. Please try a few different things. I would suggest this order: Private mode in your browser, a different browser, different computer, different network.
