I haven't heard nothing about him in 20+years. He was the first Kawi sponsered 80 rider...Atleast on the west coast....He raced durring Holland and Kehoes days on 80's....

His dad used to freak me out with his glass eye.....I was a litlle kid back then and was always weirded out by it.....

I was a team mate of sams,( Harrys cycle sales) He was by far the nicest well mannered kid in the whole bunch, oh yea and the fastest. The last thing i heard about him he was having some sort of break down, this was 20 years ago. I truly hope he is doing ok. I would sure like to get a harrys reunion together

So true about sam, thats why Im looking from him,havent seen or talked to him in over
25 years and was wondering how he and his family were doing ! we go way back.
As far as a harry's revival wouldnt that be a kick in the a// ! So many of us went through
that shop and so proud to put on his jersey back then in the ocir/sb/ec xr75 days !

I was on Harrys team with sam and really was a nice guy.I talked to his mom about 6 months ago.I had there phone # and just wanted to say hi.Its true Sam had a mental break down of some sort and was living in Washington and some type of home that helps him.Hey Chipnice Im sure we know each other.My name is Chris Taylor.I have started a list of Team HCS so we can have maybe a reunion.This isnt Vogel is it?Would love to talk to ya

I knew sam and his family back when sam was riding mini beg, he was a couple
years younger than I and I also rode for harry in the 1974/75 days (OCIR) ! Our families
hung together threw the NMA days 76/77/78

i have some old polaroids from my first wmgp...the harrys crowd then was me, byron barr, marty and johnny miller, joy merriman...fun days...also have loads of old photos that i will scan as soon as i get a scanner...harrys, jwrp...

This is so funny! The first time I saw the eye was at Barona Oaks. We were racing remote control cars in the pits and the dust got in his face. Out came the eye and he wipped it off in his hankercheif. We laughed pretty hard!

Hey Tom,I enjoy reading your post and I know you are loaded with motocross info.You seem to still have a passion for mx and you certainly made a mark in SoCal motocross.I still have many of your publications.Of course my favorite one was when Kurty Hendrixson and I had a good battle and you made some nice comments about the race and us.I still have it.I hope you and your family are doing well and look forward to talking to you in the future.MX101(Chris Taylor)
