Depends a bit where you're staying. Heerde is quite a weird track compared to some of the others, as it has some elevation here and there. Comparable sand: Berghem, Deurne and Horst.
If you have some spare time, always welcome to come to our local track Axel. We had some Dutch Masters races here and track is always prepped, you can stay overnight as well! Track is open on Wednesday and Saturdays
We are staying in the Hulshorst/ Nunspeet area.
Thanks for the suggestions. If we get time we will come visit Axel however I think it is close to 3 hours away from where we are staying?
You’re pretty close to MXGP track Arnhem and I think this one is dirtbase wise the closet to Heerde, as Heerde will get a bit deeper especially when it’s raining or rained before the event. Track is most times open on a Wednesday,Saturday and Sunday.
Nunspeet also got a track, wich is pretty rough and deep sand.
Berghem should be 1hour from you and is also a good track to practice rough stuff!
I also should recommend Hellendoorn, track is inside 1hour from yours. Track is open Saturday,Monday and Wednesday. This track won’t be prepped after Saturday anymore. So Wednesday will be quite rough! All other track in Holland will get prepped and flatted all the time when it’s get open for practice!
If you want the kids to get some rough and challenging conditions, go there on a Wednesday! Good test for the races at Heerde!
Emmen is a bit up north but that track is open on every day! This is also the only track in Holland wich is open to practice on daily base!
When will you guys get over here? I think there is still a good chance you could do a practice at Heerde!

Tracks that are most similar to Heerde and are relatively close to Nunspeet and Hulshorst are Arnhem, Halle and Varsseveld. Arnhem is a bit tougher, Halle and Varsseveld a bit more technical..

Perhaps Grevenbroich in Germany is also an option for you? Lot´s of GP riders prepare there during winter and for the sand GP races... open tuesday, wednesday and thursday and saturday and sunday...

Harfsen, Lochem and Halle are good tracks that are pretty closeby. Nunspeet is really sandy, but it’s a lot less “heavy” than Heerde is. If it’s been raining a lot, then absolutely go to Nunspeet, as it’s one of the few tracks that can take a lot of rain. It would be very heavy though if that’s the case.
We arrive 2/7. hoping to get onto Heerde 3/7 if all goes to plan and track is open.
Harfsen is closed in Juni, Juli and August.
Wich class are you guys running?
There is a round off the Dutch Nationals on 7/7 at Heerde for 85/125/250/450.
I rode at Heerde last year. Awesome track.
for someone who was raised racing on socal hard pack, it was difficult to learn how to ride in sand like that.
going back there in August for a month, hopefully I can figure out how you dutchies can go so fast in that bottomless sand.
I enjoy reading posts like this. As an American, it’s fun to look at other local tracks across the pond. Some day I would love to journey over & spend my days exploring mx tracks of each country
Heerde is open for practice on 2/7 3/7 and 4/7!
I disagree with Steve that the dems have not gone further left , they have gone , but to say the republicans have not moved is just as wrong
this was a long time ago , but respectful debate is long gone , these days where better
