I have a pro kit in my RMZ 450 Showa forks and it is a huge upgrade. The forks are much more supple on small chop and bottoming resistance is greatly improved.
I also have their spring perch in my KTM 270 Sxf forks, which are converted to KYB and this also helped with making the fork a bit better. I was using JB's spring perch in the 4cs forks on a 2014 250 Sx and also loved the improvements on that fork, which was really harsh prior to dropping in the perch.
I think that JBI has been greatly overlooked and I recommend their services for any suspension needs. JB puts a lot of thought into what he does and won't sell you something you don't need. He also has setting for everyone from the woods rider to a freestyle rider. You won't regret buying his products imo.
I haven’t but if I were to buy any products to improve the 24 kx450 suspension-it would be JBI’s products. The main one being the Base Valve post. Having the ability to tune a LSV is huge and showa did away as a money saver. Spring perches- showa stock spring perches have little resistance. JB perches are a lot more restrictive and for a faster rider that’s a good thing. Slower rider or offroad I’d stick with stock perches. OEM mv and BV pistons are good quality, but the setting is important and thats where his kit is worth the money for most.
Factory connection has a “performance package” for both shock and forks that I’ve been really impressed with. Not cheap though.
Don’t know anything on the KX stuff. But after working with a few top level people, ENZO’s setting were amazing but customer service def. Left a lot to be desired. Then I went with JB and his customer service is outstanding and his settings are close to as good as ENZO.

JB has done multiple sets of AERs and shocks for us. Pro Kits, spring conversions, MX Tech tanks, etc. Turn times are great, customer support is great, prices are industry standard. Not a single issue and I will be sending him our stuff every time.
Had revalves done by JBI on my ktms and now im on a yz450f, and bought one of his pro perches. https://www.ridejbi.com/jbi-titanium-pro-perch/ Quality looks amazing, had them installed today and hitting the track tomorrow will report back, but after watching his youtube videos on the product I doubt ill ahve anything bad to say. JB is as stand up as they come, we visited socal and I met him at fox raceway randomly, he invited me and my friends back to his shop to show us his work area, cracked a few beers, and was riding laps with us on the track. Nothing but good things to say about the quality, services, and results of having work done by him.
He started his company in his garage in arizona, and eventually packed up and moved to temecula area to be more in the scene of moto and riding and has built his business from the ground up.

I like his you tube stuff. Way more info than anybody else.
I have his DIY AER fork kit. Great kit with multiple settings, and even better service. Very helpful guy.
I also reached out awhile back for a spring rate spec for the yz125 I was building. Forks had already been revalved, but I wanted to see how they felt with proper springs before digging into them further. He sells genuine KYB springs and had no problem giving spring rate recommendations. Other companies I reached out to would not, and just wanted to sell me a complete rebuild/revalve/springs for $1300.
Lifelong customer here, and can't wait for him to release his yamaha DIY kit because I'll be buying 2 of them.
JB from what I ve seen is creative and open to trying new stuff.. and sharing it. Some of these suspension guys act like they have cured cancer and they can't share the "secret". More often then not they don't have any secret stuff.
The issue with most of these forks (KYB specifically) is they changed the mid valve post on the cartridge that holds the piston back on 2011 - 2012 ish. This new "leaf spring" design has less parts. IT's Cheaper to put together and make. BUT, it doesn't allow the shims to move out of the way far enough for sharp hits. Now, it works well for big hits... but it sucks for off road trail riding imo. JB even discussed this on one of his videos.
So on a percentage basis how many of these bikes sold to the general public end up on pro supercross tracks? Very, very few. This is a fork setup that works well there. But doesn't do well in ruff sharp edged train (roots, rocks, trails..... regular out door moto).
You want these forks to work off road (not supercross?)... they need help. And the mid valve is the major issue. It doesn't flow enough oil fast enough for trail junk. It needs to be modified.
These are the mid valve posts KYB has used last multiple years. The limiting one is the one on the far right... that show up 2011 ish.
On the left is the old mid valve post with the spring and pre load washers.... on the right is the newer one. Look at the distance the shims can move on the left (much more - farther) then on the right. This is where the problem lies... where the harsh feel comes from. The shims on the post on the right hit the "cup" in a short distance... on the right they can blow farther out of the way.
Thus, I convert the posts to the old style ones.... to allow more room for shims to move for the high speed (sharp bump hits).
Note Thanks to DaveJ at Smartperformance for helping me understand this issue.
Which one of these cartridge posts allow the shims to move further out of the way on sharp hits (thus less harsh)? These are both KYB cartridge posts... Same KYB piston on both posts.
I'd love to hear about your perch review. Been eyeballing a set for awhile.
well i give it 10/10 after my fuck up today lol...forks felt exactly the same through 80% of the stroke didnt notice any difference and this is on the same track, same ish conditions ive been used to riding before the pro perch install.
Anyways I over jumped a 60ish foot table on the vet track today, and right after the landing theres a short flat segment then immediately transitions to a steep uphill , quite possibly one of the worst places to over shoot
, well i had to time to brace and my position was good i thought for sure here comes the clank and im going to get bucked....It never came, it was a hard hit but honestly didnt even really break my pace, as i was able to keep riding, a lap or two later i went back to the truck and the fork travel indicator(lil silicone ring) was about 1/4 inch from the bottom. So they kept me from going metal to metal, hurting my wrists and possibly crashing. Seems like one of those mods you wont even know its there until you need it, unless you do a lot of jumping then im sure itll make it self known more often.
video isnt me, but if you watch at 37sec mark thats the table top, if you pause at 41 youll see some ruts at the bottom of the landing, thats where my REAR tire landed, per usual go pro video does it no justice.

That would be a very hard hit
Man that would be a hard hit. Good to know they made a difference in that situation though. I had a pretty nasty bottom out yesterday, full metal clang and all. My first thought (after a SOB was dropped) was about needing revalving and getting the perches. Pretty sure I'm going to grab a set once I decide on the other part changes I want to make.
yah it wasnt pleasant, i found the bike stock and even after FC revalve that to get that really good bottoming resistance i had to run the fork compression clickers stiff enough that it started to take away some of the comfort, wasnt anything drastic and surely wouldn't notice it on race day, but for just blasting the track with buddies it could be felt. The pro perches allow me to back out a few clicks, get all that comfort, and prevent the bottoming. I dont know how this product isnt recommended from the start by most companies, since all stock bikes have similar perches with massive holes to allow the oil to bypass.
