2-3 times a year is overkill unless your jetting is off. I change my spark plug once a year just because. It is otherwise ignored and runs flawless.

I've never fouled a plug on any bike in 30 years of riding.

I was scared to death of not having complete control of the jetting on my 1st FI too but it worked out.

the newer FI 2 strokes had lots of bugs to work out and

Spark plugs are the least of my concern on my perfectly jetted YZ250. Yes, there's always one in the toolbox at the track... You know, just in case I foul one in the NEXT 30 years.

If those two things happen I will sell my 300 XC and go back to blue in a heartbeat.

With the factory supported Yamaha teams in Europe that run 2 stks. in the EMX125 and EMX250 classes making the switch to the YZF combo, could mean a switch to the YZF look for 2025? Also with Yamaha being very conservative with the 2 stks, there could be no styling changes?
