You have no idea what you are talking about. You are just jumping on the "let's bash the kid" band wagon.
So why the heck not, it's their money.
It's better than having to race in order to eat later that day.

I have no reason to back peddle. I simply wanted to hear thoughts on the topic. I never once said or even inferred that it was out of line or anything bad at all. In fact, I even mentioned, I wonder if I would do the same if I could for my own son.
I will give you this one though... When I first watched the video, I did think it was a bit ridiculous, and you are damn straight I was jealous. But then I thought about it a bit further, and at that point I began to wonder if that is what it takes to compete at the amateur nationals now. At that point I decided it would be a good discussion topic here.
I don't mind debating and don't take it personally; however, I definitely don't want it to appear that I'm ripping on this kid who I don't even know. That was not the point of this thread at all. I will say, I'll be keeping my eye out on the results for Jaissac, as he's a local to me now.
Finally... drop the special ed shit. I will debate you all day long about moto and it's no sweat off my back, but making fun of someone because of a disability is childish and bullshit. Do you know how many kids out there are special ed? Did they choose to be that way? If they drank themselves into Special Ed, that would be one thing, but they didn't. For your information, I'm perfectly healthy and capable and not special ed, but I think your comment was childish bullshit.

I would never bash a kid riding a dirt bike, but I would have a load of fun bashing some dude who buys a shit load of race bikes for a kid who would rather be riding a klx110 around a sandlot with his buds.
Or can a family with a pickup and one bike still compete?
Are the kids with a ton of natural talent missing a shot if they don't have the bucks? Never get on the podium on clapped out bikes so they don't get the sponsors?
Or they simply can't travel all over the country to compete, so they never get noticed?
Seems likely to me.
But, cool for anyone that has the money and wants to do it, go for it.
So is the kid a C rider?
Get over it guys. They appear to be doing it on their own dime, and if their dime is bigger that other peoples dime, who cares?
Mechanic?
Trainer?
Website that talks about him in the third person like he's some rock star?
WTF - he's only 12!
dad looks young....must have a lot of cash in that family. The Cinematographer and Mechanic look like freaks.
Hedonistic people living a life of excess....a portrait of American culture at its finest.
Looks to me like they're keeping it fun.
Pit Row
Which is another way of describing slow and old.
Why even ask the question... of course it is not necessary, of course one does not need any of that to compete at the top.
... but you already knew that so....
Even if you were that naive not to know if it is neeeded, why not just write down a bunch of examples and discuss it rather than make an example out of some kid in specific?
oh, and one more thing, i have immunity on the "special ed shit"... you don't have to tell me... i don't think i have to further for you to figure out what that means. And no, i don't get offended when other people talk that way. bfd
off to work, have a good day boys

"The kid holeshotted the Mini Os"
DB125 Holshotted and led A1 on a 450 whats your point ?
No Disrespect to Daniel Blair Iam HUGE fan of his
The level of comitment to racing is very high with this family....so what ?
Who are you to judge someone else's decicision what is necessary ?
Spending money on a film crew to produce a video of your kid as he attempts to qualify for an amateur race: Questionable
Doing it with all the attitude of an MTV production: Pointless
For better or worse; the amateur scene is worlds different than it was 15 years ago.
