Helping Chris Whitcraft Raffle
VitalMX Friends:
A few of us are holding a raffle of Chris Whitcraft's 2010 KXF450 (less than 2 hours on the bike) to help offset his financial issues due to a recent racing accident that has left him unable to work (and pay his mounting hospital bills). Any one who has ever met Chris knows that he is a 110% type of guy when it comes to his determination and heart. His infectious smile and positive attitude, even in desperate times, is a gift that we have all, or could, benefit from.
Please help by contributing or spreading the word.
Thanks,
The Helping Chris Whitcraft Raffle Volunteers
The Story:
While racing ArenaCross in mid February, our friend Chris Whitcraft sustained serious injuries during a racing accident. Unable to feel his legs when they removed his boots, he was transported from Huntington, W VA. to Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus via helicopter where doctors performed an extensive surgery to repair fractured vertebrae's. During surgery, the doctors noted how lucky he was as his spinal cord was not severed or kinked, a common occurrence with his type of injury.
Not willing to accept the idea that he wouldn't walk again, Chris took to his physical therapy treatments with the enthusiasm for which he is known. Over the next 3 weeks, he constantly amazed his therapists with his work ethic and desire to relearn how to walk. Now, released from the hospital, he wears a neck brace, is walking and attends physical therapy on an outpatient basis.
That said, it sounds like the story has a happy ending. But the end is nowhere in sight. Chris has a long way to go. Just a month before, Chris purchased a new 2010 Kawasaki KX 450, a motorcycle that he is now unable to ride. In addition, one can only guess at the expense of being in the hospital for 3 weeks, even after insurance. Additionally he is not yet able to work.
So, to help Chris, We, his friends, are holding a Raffle. First prize is his 2010 Kawasaki KX 450 motorcycle, 2nd prize is 6 - 1 day passes at Briarcliff, 3rd prize Chris is donating a 2 hour training sessions at Briarcliff MX. You will receive 1 entry for every $25 donation. A $50 donation gets you 2 chances to win. Donations can be made through the website.
The final drawing will occur on Sunday May 2nd, 5pm at Briarcliff MX or before. Tickets are available on a first come first serve basis.
Thanks for your consideration. We know Chris really appreciates everyone's help.

I'll chip something in soon.
Can you let the Whitcraft family know that I will deliver the bike out west for free? If that's on the website, it might help out.

Also Chris told me yesterday that he spent about 3 hours on the phone

including famine, clean water (j/k) SX jumps and the issues facing
motocross today(serious)!
