This. Mapped my Twisted Vortex the morning of Open Practice and gave me maps to choose from while at Mammoth.

Did they do that for free given that you bought the vortex from them or did you have to pay them again at Mammoth?

It was his “Twisted” mapped ECU & he did it for free.

For the record, I’ve run his ECU’s on my bikes ever since he’s had them. I believe my 1st bike was a 2015 Husky. I’ve run his Vortex’s and his remapped OEM ECU’s.

Guys with the vortex from twisted… what position did your fuel trim screws come in??? On the form I put down I use pro6/u4.4 which should be one click richer. I got the ecu and all the trim clickers were in position 4. Well I wasn’t sure if that is the “one click richer” setting because of the fuel I said I was using, or that is the “stock” position, and I needed to go one click richer.

I had 2 from TD for my 350, first one was bought 2nd hand and came with all trims on 5. I ran that for a while, then went to 4 on the high and it made a huge difference in top end pull. The second one i ordered from TD and listed pump fuel with a akro slip on. All trims came on 4 and that’s how I run them. If I was the run oxy fuel I would assume I’d need to go to atleast 5 on the high, but that’s just my thinking and I could be completely wrong. I hope this helps

Mine came from TD all set to 5.

You should beable to adjust those fuel trims to your liking. I am not suggesting turning them all to 1, but there are there for your fine tuning. You can change the way the motorcycle feels by adjusting those fuel trims. It is very often looked over by Vortex Owners. People are afraid to make adjustments, but you won’t hurt the engine within reason… IE… if you hear lean popping etc you know you would know to richen it up. Jamie specifically encouraged me to play with them.

I have a vortex with XPR maps/fuel Pro 6. Best mod for my CRF 250R.

Reason I’m asking is my bike barley wants to start hot or cold since putting the ecu in it. I’m wondering if having all the fuel trims set to 5 is making it too rich. I did do the tps relearn as per the instructions. And if I pull out the cold start knob it really doesn’t want to start. Only way I’ve been able to get it started is to have the throttle cracked just right as I’m kicking it.

Sounds like your tps needs to be set correctly. There a dongle you can buy and use a multimeter to set it.

You can adjust the fuel trim. Sometimes I adjust if I want to soften the feel or sharpen the throttle touch. Or low elevation vs high, you can adjust to your liking.

lower number is less fuel and higher is more. Sometimes I’ll just do the low fuel trim to adjust how it feels at roll on of throttle.

According to vortex and TD I just have to kick it over holding the kill switch throttle closed and then again throttle open. I’ve tried this multiple times and concern is still present. I’ve tried kicking it fast, slow, multiple times in each position and nothing seems to make a difference. Thought maybe it was fuel related as I started using this pal of fuel at the same time I installed the ecu but I am actually using the same fuel in my pit bike and that has no issues at all.

Anyone get an ecu for the 2024 yz250f? Looking  at the XPR as I don’t see a need for TD ecu+airbox. I’m really wanting to clean up the low end of the bike. Havent seen any reviews of just an ecu upgrade on these yet.

I know this is old but I got a td tuned vortex for my 24. Stock bike with fmf slip on and 93 non ethanol.Since day 1 if I fall or tip over the bike wont start. Also seems to flame out and stall on slow turns when the rpm's are low. It did clean up the bottom end and helped over rev as well. I have tried every combination of fuel trims within reason with the same results. Sent it back to td for a reflash and still the same. They are not helpful at all, and one of the guys at the Florida shop was pretty rude on the phone.Yesterday I went to the track and first lap I stalled and fell over in a rutted turn. Sat there for an entire lap trying to get it started. Then it happened again next moto. Got so fed up with it I put the stock ecu back on and had zero issues.Fell again(not thrilled) in 3rd moto and it started fine. Twisted development customer service is severely lacking unless your a pro rider I guess

Did you set the TPS correctly? If its off calibration the bike will run like shit

I ended up going with XPR and I’ve had no issues at all for 10hrs of ride time so far.

I had a similar sounding issue and to be honest, don't know what actually fixed the problem.  But I took my throttle body out and cleaned everything really well and that seemed to do the trick.  Could also be a dirty connector, so when/if you take the tb out, make sure to clean the connectors really well.
