I’m looking at taking my son out to Colorado some this summer for a 1-2 day ride. Does anyone have any suggestions for fun singletrack or jeep trails that would be good for a 7 year old? He’s a pretty good rider, but is still young. Riding a kx65.

Rampart Range

Not sure where you are staying, but RR is about 30 minutes into the mountains from the south side of Denver.  Main parking lot is at the north end of the trail system.  Another area that is a little more wide open and easier trails is the Rainbow Falls area. (part of RR) The drive to Rainbow Falls is beautiful.

Forgot to ask...where are you staying?  I might have a different suggestion depending on where you plan to stay.

I went to rampart range probably 20 years ago and am familiar with RAM off road park area.

Was wondering a little about Taylor Park area too. I don't have any specifics lined out yet. Just was wondering if anyone had a loop or route that they really enjoyed with their young one that I could try out.

I'm not a Colorado trail pro by any means, but ive been to Taylor Park a few times, and I can't think of anything kid-friendly unless you just did fire trails which would be very boring.

Surprisingly in Divide, there are plenty of trails that are mostly just whoops. Not way hard unless your ripping. I would think you could pick one or two of those. A couple of small hills to. But if the kid can moto, he can ride the woods.

We ended up doing a 1 day ride. We did a short two track route called silver creek road that was more for beginners since we ended up bringing my daughter who just learned to ride and another beginner. We made a short down and back on that road and ate some lunch and fished during the afternoon. Was a great time! Been racing a lot of moto, but looking forward to doing a longer trip this summer now that they can ride quite a bit better.

Great to hear! I have a lot of routes in that area. Spent almost 30 summers there in Taylor Park.
