Recently bought a 16’yz 250. The bike had the throttle cable adjusted wrong so it was always revving high at an idle bc the throttle cable was too tight, so I fixed the adjustment and cleaned the carb and everything and now after revving the bike it seems like it takes a couple seconds to idle back down. Where should I start troubleshooting. I don’t know too much and jetting carbs all I’ve ever really done with them is pulled apart and cleaned so any advice is appreciated
Typically, it's a lean condition in the pilot circuit. Should probably be able to correct it with the air screw. If the air screw is in more than one turn from closed, then go to the next size larger pilot jet and start with the air screw at 1.75 turns open and work from there.

IMO, you don't need a jetting kit for the YZ. What jets you have in it now?

Chances are you have an air leak.
That's a good possibility, but I'd start with correct jetting. Right now, he doesn't even know what jets are in it. I'd check that out before going down the air leak rabbit hole.
You really need to figure that out. So, when you cleaned it, you didn't pull the jets out or check the float level? You really have to start with the basics or you're just chasing your tail.
No I never checked, stupid on my end I know. Had some other issues I was addressing and such and then also got hit with storms so I have been busy working. I’ll definitely tear into it here in the next day or so and properly check and clean everything out and go from there
