She may have been looking for an exit strategy. Not saying her husband’s illness was “convenient”, but she’s put in enough time to build credibility while departing with Trump’s good graces before GOP leadership further distances itself from the White House.
She found out what she was in for when Trump said he didn't care what she said about Iran's nuke program. So then she backtracked and looked like an idiot when asked about why she changed her mind. This is what happens to anybody in the Trump orbit who dares utter an educated opinion that differs from his uneducated opinion. She just got her leash yanked. Many others just get fired. Ask Dr. Erika McEntarfer who made the mistake of simply reporting regular employment data. Oh the humanity!
I actually like Gabbard and I hope she can somehow wash off the stench left by the Trump admin but it's a tall order.
