Hey, no worries. I assumed you had seen earlier mentions of it having existed before today. That was a core part of my explanation attempts. Personally, I’d never heard of it, and likely would not have heard of it if it hadn’t upset people this week.
"Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not"
I saved some the trouble 🙂
Interesting that you don't understand the issue, but not surprising. Of all of those days he could have spoken about that occurred on Easter this year, he chose to speak about the one which would generate the most controversy.
It also shows his lack of competence. A wiser choice would have been to stay away from it totally, especially during an election year.
Lol , that list is ridiculous . If politicians are going to create that many special days … I say they have to partake and celebrate in all of them . Just a thought …

Being a person who tries to lead a good life is a better way to describe it. Good correction 👍
I know the Bunny part is for kids and not the adults. I was just sharing that for me that’s where the questioning, and the disbelief began.
I looked up pantheism after your other comment and, at a glance, maybe. It’s something I’ll read more about. I’m not sure my belief is strong enough to put a label on it, but it’s an idea I jive with.
Just to add another thought, should you be looking for what you jive with, or for the truth? 🙂
I gotta start eating better 🙂
It’s part of the Left’s platform. I think he spoke about it to support a segment of his base, not to create controversy or deepen a divide. As mentioned somewhere in this thread, Joe Biden goes to church and the White House held an event for Easter.
you dodged the pedo thing
If you tell me your faith is the truth I’m gonna roll my eyes so hard it’s gonna hurt.
I must know too many wrong Christians. I swear they celebrate Santa, the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny, etc... more than God. Thanksgiving always cracks me up. Gosh did those Indians get the shaft or what...
I’m not celebrating it this year / don’t know what you’re talking about.
Is Clams on a Half Shell a euphemism?
It was a real question, and got an expected response. If you are just looking for what you jive with, then your lifestyle determines your morality, instead of your morality determining your lifestyle.
There is no truth. There is only what makes sense to us.
let's have that conversation
let's have that conversation
There’s zero criticism in that quote. It’s not implying anything in comparison. Both stories involve the supernatural.
What would you like to talk about? I don’t know how I’m involved in your population being offended.

One of my doctors was Muslim and I asked him what was the difference in our religion. He said we basically have the same beliefs except the dying on the cross part. Glad I asked...
I just had a talk about this with my kids yesterday. One of them asked why is Easter symbolized by the easter bunny? I explained that the way I see it is main stream society has been trying to detract from Christianity for a long time. Little by little. The easter bunny is there to distract you and especially children from the true meaning of Easter. I then asked them what is the reason for Christmas? Of course they answered "Jesus was born". But then I asked them who is the main character of Christmas when you look around at the stores, movies, cards etc.? Of course its santa. I believe St Nicholas was a real person, who did good things, but I believe Satan has progressively made it more and more about Satan Clause and less and less about Jesus. Its just one more way that Christianity is being pushed to the side. Think about it..... many many non christians celebrate Christmas. Its a Christian holiday, so why do they even celebrate it if they dont believe in the real true reason? Its been a part of our culture from the very beginning of this country (and even longer than that). They have been celebrating it with their families for generation upon generation. Once they give up on their faith they continue to celebrate, but pervert the real reason by putting another character (false idol?) in place of the real central focus Jesus Christ. I never had my children believe in santa clause even when they were little for 2 different reasons. First is that we should be focused on Jesus Christs birth and second because I dont want to lie to my children. I myself didnt believe in santa as a child (my Mom believed the same thing Im trying to explain here), and never had to "face the facts", but how do some kids feel when they learn the truth? Upset for sure! And rightfully so, how would you feel if you learned that your parents, the number one people looking out for you, have been black and white, straight up lying to you for YEARS! I think that sends the wrong message to children and degrades their trust in you. As bad as it sounds, I believe the easter bunny and santa clause are the work of the devil to intentionally distract from Christian beliefs. I dont get upset about them, or really even offer this point of view to very many, as they are pretty harmless characters and many people view it as innocent fun, but I just dont see it that way. In fact my children are about old enough I would like to start a new sort of tradition on Christmas (and probably Thanksgiving too) where we go volunteer as a family at a soup kitchen or something of the sort to help those in our community less fortunate than us. In a way sort of acting like the santa to give to those in need while focusing on the true reason for the season, Gods love for us, and trying to spread that knowledge to others through our volunteering to help. Thats the kind of belief I want my kids to have, not some sort of make believe character. No offence to anyone that see it differently, thats just what I believe, and it sort of fit into the way this conversation is going.
you really don't understand that ..."found the lost sock in the dryer day" has less of an impact than Easter for Christians? bullshit man
That statement is postmodernism in a nutshell.
That was a great post and I wholeheartedly agree on those things distracting us from God. The list is a mile long especially in a country as wealthy and with many freedoms as compared to others. But as we've learned, freedom and wealth can lead one to sin, just as quick as restrictions and poverty. You sound like a great person!
Lots of good points and counterpoints in here today. Good job guys 🏆
Pedophilia is wrong - do you consider that a truth, or is it acceptable to you if it makes sense?
Rape is wrong - do you consider that a truth, or is it acceptable to you if it makes sense?
How about murder? Racism?
I don't know ifthat's a guy or a girl but he/she is way too old for Joe 🥴
I believe that pedophilia, rape, murder and racism are wrong. I believe that makes sense to most people. It doesn’t make sense to all people. I disagree with people who think those things aren’t wrong.
But that changes based on the number of people who it does or does not make sense to. It also means that you'd have to acknowledge those who do think they are acceptable and consider their arguments. If they make a sensible argument you'd have to accept it. In your case the only thing that determines right and wrong is consensus.
I described what I believe and alluded to the existence of murders, rapists and pedophiles who think they’ve done nothing wrong. Where are you getting that I’m considering any consensus in defining my morals?
