Seal leaking because of chip in fork tube

I just tore my forks apart to replace the seals and fluid and I realized why one of my seals has been leaking. I have a deep nick in the inner tube. Is there an easy way to repair this? I think this was brought up before....

First, what kind of bike is it? I have A TON of fork tubes and crap laying around.

You can grind or file any raised portion of the scratch and it should hold as long as it isn't super deep.

Really, I would just get a tube. If it's kyb and I don't have one laying around I can get you a new one for around $150-175. If it's Showa I probably do have one laying around...

It's a Yamaha there are gonna leak with or with out the nick. Just do the sand and epoxyfix.

Actually my Yamaha never leaks (until I got this chip). I used to have leak problems until I started using SealSavers:

I'm going to try the JBWeld now.
Good call on the seal savers. Those kyb's have always had a problem with even the slightest dust in there causing leaks.

Definitely. My last two YZs leaked every ride until I put the SealSavers on. I've been using them for about 8 years now. Well, I took a Dremel tool with a round stone and smoothed out the hole and the JBWeld is applied. I think it's going to work.

In a pinch at the track you can smooth out the high spot and use super glue to fill the void. Sand down the super glue. It is a quick setup and gets you back on the gate for moto 2.

Which side was it?

I don't know how different the fork tubes are from year to year but I have a Left side(i think, might be right side) from a 07 yz250f in near perfect condition I'd be willing to part with cheap.

Look into a new fork seal covers called Shock Sox, they can be removed in only 10 seconds. You can buy them easy online just go to yahoo and search Shock Sox. They require no tools for removal of forks like seal savers. Shock Sox are best on the market.

I have the wp 4cs forks and hit my right fork on a rock and might try the jb weld of epoxy for now but if anyone has a inner tube, I am looking for one.
