I understand, it's painful for the non-believers to acknowledge his talent.  There have been Bob Hannah and Jeremy McGrath Fanboys, RC Fanboys, James Stewart Fanboys and now there are Jett Lawrence Fanboys, only difference is he's an Aussie.  I'm not afraid to admit it, he's incredible to watch for his young age, literally the perfect rider on a dirtbike, what the Hell is not to be a fan of.  Nothing to get Butthurt about, you should try some of this.

Well! it truly looks like Daytona was Eli's passing of the torch moment unfortunately, because now it's 3 in a row for Jett and he seems to have figured the 450 Supercross thing out.  No! disrespect to Eli, but in sports it happens where an athlete doesn't retire at the top of his game and a new hired gun rides into town does force him to retire. I can't really think of many riders that went out on top, maybe Ricky Carmichael, because he wasn't willing to take the risks anymore, but with most of the ultra fast SX/MX riders there comes a time when they realize they just don't have that extra whatever it was that made them one of the greats.  Jett is came into the 450 class perfectly by racing MX last year to get used to the 450 before racing Supercross in 2024 and I'm not sure who on the horizon is going to step their game up and compete with him in the future, probably some 14 year old kid we haven't heard of yet that will come in and start giving Jett headaches in about 6 or 7 years, until then though it could be some boring racing for awhile.  Anyone who still refuses to acknowledge Jett's abilities is just living with their heads buried in the Dirt.   Still gonna watch and hope to see who the next up and comer is to make the 450 class competitive again.   All I gotta say is for everything he's gone through in his career with the injuries he suffered, Ken Roczen is an absolute Stud the way he rode that Suzuki last night, he's really good in these shortend triple crown main events.

Jet has been amazing to watch.  When he passes a rider it seems like he has been able to get a second or 2 gap in just a corner or 2.  Fun to watch and try and see how he is going faster.  And Kenny , that was so cool to see Kenny be the one to be giving Jett the most trouble.  I have to agree that the Daytona pass seems to be that moment for Jett.  Not that he is guaranteed  that he will never have a bad race or will win every race for the next 7 years. But I really would not be surprised to see Jett win the rest of the SX races this year, like RC did when He finally had things click. 

I'm hoping that Hunter picks up some speed and gets closer to Jett. He gets to see and do everything Jett is doing. But I wonder if it might also be a slight disadvantage. If Jett is always faster at the practice and test tracks. I wonder if it could help Hunter to get some confidence by going and doing some stuff without Jett? Probable better to stick around Jett and then He knows how fast he needs to go to get on that level. 

 

Even if Jett starts to win everything, I know I'll keep watching. I went to more races during the RC 250 and Stew 125 era than at any point. It was amazing to see  how RC would find a fast straight and go slow on it during time practice/qualifying . So He knew he could drop a couple seconds just going fast on the straight. I watched him at High Point one year when he did that. I don't know how often he did it. But even with domination unlike any other rider, It was fun to watch. And there were always a ton of fans there. A lot did leave during the second Moto if RC got a good start. But I feel like domination by 1 rider has not hurt the sport in the past. It can be good for attracting new viewers. It's a bummer for more hard core viewers that like a good battle. But there is always the battle for second and third. When second becomes almost as good as first, people battle harder for it.

I don't know if you noticed this, but it seemed he was just riding behind Ken Roczen studying where he was going to make his pass and then BAM! he just lights the fires and he's gone, then backs it off after gets a comfortable lead and then just maintains it.  He did the same thing at Daytona when he passed Tomac and Justin Cooper through that rhythm section and then he was gone. When Jett decides to wick up the speed temporarily, he's incredibly fast.
