Several times I have come a across people saying a 2022 shock will fit on the 2023-24 but after days of searching cannot find what parts need to be changed or even if it is possible.
Does anyone know how to do this or if it can be done relatively easy?
Thanks for any help.
with REP, we use a clevis conversion kit for 22 Trax customers wanting to keep that shock on new chassis.
The kit replaces the 22 clevis with an updated shorter clevis. It retains the shock shaft however “locks” the trax system within the shaft and you’re left with a traditional low speed rebound clicker. The clevis center is also offset from shaft center along with provided top shock collars being offset(funky) but it will fit.
It IS NOT a bolt up and go kind of kit as the shock does need to come apart and components changed. You need an experienced suspension tech to swap it all over correctly and you need an even better tuner to make sure everything seals internally otherwise the shaft leaks internally through the shaft and needle.
as a technician that’s installed these kits, they will WORK for most but if you want to change shock piston to current you are very limited on post space for setting. My opinion is get the updated model trax shock, get rid of old shock and be on something current, make your tuner happy.
Thanks I appreciate the response.
Sounds like it may be more than I want to do.
