Valve shims not quite fitting or seating?

Doing my first top end on a 450SXF and have come to change the valve shims. The kit I got has a advertised outer diameter of 8.9mm and is the one I was told was correct for the 450SXF. However when I go to place the new shim in the little bucket, it won't go in. The current shims measure 8.8mm and the ones I bought measure 8.85mm (on my calipers). I don't want to force them in there as it seems like it would make it very hard to get them out in future. Is this normal?

They sound oversized compared to the oem ones.  Who makes them?

Hot cams. I've looked around and it seems like this engine is supposed to accept 8.9mm shims.

Hopefully someone can chime in on what kind of clearance between the bucket and shim ,.002 seems like an acceptable amount . How did the original feel in the bucket ? Did they just come out easily.

I bought the bike new, so I know it's all still original. The original shims come out easy with the use of a magnet. I ended up having to tap these new ones in gently with a punch.
