Villopoto's Exhaust

I know it sounds dumb but I think he may have been able to finish if his bike had been running a different exhaust.

The PC muffler caps have a long, poke-you-in-the-eye design that, when crashing like he did, acts like a little dirt scoop. This happened to me back on my 60 when mufflers had those long finger-looking tips.

Back in the late 90's, manufacturers started coming out with capped tips that were designed to receive the blunt of an impact and keep the tip from digging into the ground. I think even pro-circuit had this design for many of its mufflers up until 2006 I believe, when it started running the pointed tips on its race bikes.

Even the Akrapovik (however you spell it) system on Hill's bike has has some protection around the tip, and a design like the Yoshimura systems on the Honda's and Suzukis seem much more protected.

Ok, that's all. Flame away if you don't agree.

Hey Racer92,
You forgot to take the sticker off the end cap. DOH!!
Watch it. You can pack the end cap on that power core. (I did it last year when I cartwheeled the bike.
What expansion chamber is that? I just ordered an FMF fatty for my RM.

I run the Gnarly and Turbine Core 2 on my 2-Troke. I've plugged it a few times but I always take the turd out before trying to start.

Are you a scramble or MX rider?

I had a Fatty on my KX and changed to a Gnarly... BIG difference!! I like the Gnarly way better!

I ride 99% moto 1% trail. I loved my gnarly pipes but always missed a little on top when riding moto. I figured the fatty would be better for my needs.
