Hi, I had my new bike out today for the 1st time. It’s a ktm 250sx 2023.. I started it up let it warm on idle. Went across the field nice and steady to let it warm up more. Then blasted it up and down prob like a mile. I then cut it out for a few seconds. Then when went to start it it was not having it not even trying to start. I then pushed the bike a bit left it a few mins then it started instantly. Had another blast down the field again another mile stopped cut it out while getting gloves on went to start it and again nothing! But this time battery just went dead. Tried giving it a running jump start a few times nothing! Pushed the bike across 3 fields to my van got it home put a power pack on the battery and it started instantly.
don’t no what’s wrong! Maybe it’s the battery isn’t charged enough? But then again when it 1st didn’t start it was turning the engine loads with no attempt in firing.
or could it be the plug when gets hot it doesn’t want to fire 🤔
On the new ECU bikes the battery has to have a good charge to run the ECU. The stator doesn’t provide enough power even when bump stating. Some KTM models, like the XC have a condenser connected to the battery (located in the airbox) to allow bump starting when the battery is dead. I would start with having a fully charged battery. The LiFePo battery needs a special charger so don’t use one for a lead acid battery. Good luck and let us know what you find.
Would be good if I could bump start it! Can’t find anything online about it having a condenser or capacitor ect. And if it did how would it be used to bump the bike 🤔
The condenser will store enough power so as the bike is being bump started, the power produced by the bike has somewhere to go. It's kind of a fail safe incase your battery shorts out, which lipo have a tendency to do. I wire a condenser into race bikes that don't have them just for that reason. If the battery fails mid race, the bike will shut off, even if the stator is producing output. Not saying that's your issue in this case but just explaining. I would start with a new spark plug, cheapest easiest thing to do. I just had a TBI come in last week for a no start issue, it had spark but didn't look great, put a new plug in and it was fine

Thanks for info mate. On that note then if mine does have a condenser then it should have bumped we did it down a big hill didn’t even try to fire. Then it’s most likely the plug not working when plug gets warm 🤔
if it doesn’t have a condenser then maybe the problem is due to not enough power in the battery.
tomorrow will find out anyway just going to pick a new plug up now will have it on hand as well as a booster pack.

You may have a CAPACITOR, not condenser, as I mistakenly called it. It is connected directly to battery and stores a charge even when the battery dies.
Nar mate defo no 1 on my bike the sx’s must not some with one
Capacitor and condenser are the same thing in this situation. Some brands call them a capacitor and others call them a condenser on their parts fische
Had 4 hours on the bike today fully charged battery, no problems at all so it must of been the battery not having enough charge to start it.
