I just waltzed over to the Canon side with a purchase of a Rebel xti with very few photos through it. Can I afford a better one? Tell me the damage and I'll let you know.

Hey Bill, if you're referring to the mk3, I sold it to another vital mxer earlier this week.


Mk3ks are going in the 2-2.3 k range. You can get a Mk2 for a grand and have a pro body wth autofocus that will knock the socks off most other cameras.


The new 7d is supposed to be excellent. I's about $1,600 new. Good used 40 and 50d's can be had for well under a grand. Any of these will knock the socks off an xti. That still a decent camera though. Camera's are a bit like women; you can spend more than you want and it may take awhile to figure it out
