GT80 Help?

I've got a customer w/ a 1978 Yami GT80,he's replacing fork seals and says the forks were packed w/ grease.Is this normal?If not,how much fork oil to use? I can only access service manuals back to '84. Thanks for any info.

I replaced fork seals on my 1979 Gt80 and it was not packed with grease.
And its 10wt fork oil at 108-116 cc
