That was a super one lined track. Atleast after the s turn to the finish line. Im kind of surprised that they didnt smooth out that rut in the s turn to let the riders make alternative lines. Dungey might have been able to make a pass on villo if he would have got past chisholm before the s turns, but it probably would have had to be a dirty one.

Last I checked lapper's are part of the race. The better racers get around them and do not worry about a blue flag.
Agreed. Those guys are fighting for every dollar.

I wonder if RC would have been as vocal about it if Dungey had been leading and Villopoto was behind Kyle?

Dungey didn't seem too upset about it.

Exactly, rv and rd know how it works. It's never gonna change

I thought KC got a bad rap on this one.

Although we will never know, I didn't see RD having a chance of passing RV unless the lappers slowed up RV enough to allow RD to catch up.

On the other hand, RD had about 3 laps to get close enough to put a wheel in there and he didn't do it. He made time, but not enough.

If he wanted to win that race, he should have been more aggressive earlier.

BUT, he's still tied for points and all he needs is to get things going back his direction. We have a great battle on our hands and I think/hope it see/saws back and forth the rest of the season.

2010 AMA Rule Book

Section 4.15

b. Warning Flags

2. Solid Blue Flag:

- Indicates you are about to be overtaken by faster riders.

- When conditions allow, move out of the fast line.

- Hold your line (don't ride erratically) and do not impede the faster riders progress.

- Riders disregarding this flag may be black-flagged at the discretion of the race director.

So if FIM referee John Gallagher adhered to the letter of the law, as the rule is written, he should black flag every rider who receives, then disregards, a blue flag when there is a rider coming up behind him that beat him the week before or qualified faster than him that night.

Clearly, as the rule is written it is too vague to enforce. It doesn't even specify that the rider he slows down for has to be lapping him.

Chisholm was racing for position against a bunch of guys. He has been hauling ass lately and his results have improved every week. He's knocking on the door of the top-ten after missing round one. As Renner pointed out, it's pretty easy to get passed by the guys you've been dicing with for the past 15 minutes if you back off too much because you got the blue flag.

Believe me, the guys (Dungey, Villopoto) who are lapping guys like Chisholm 18 laps into a race are obviously fast enough to pass him without him having to jeopardize his own position. Dungey knows this and I doubt he has any ill will towards Kyle.
Like you said some of these guys are full of shit, but none of them can top you for being full of shit.Maybe you never noticed KC pass Boni after Boni moved over for the blue flag.

Thing was with the section that was one lined up and around the right hander to left combo... It may have been one lined as in the fastest line, but Kyle wasn't racing anyone, he shoud have swung way wide and let em through...

But hey, this isn't new, the lappers are always gonna be an issue, cause Racers are all racers, at that level, at some point, they have all won races and all think in very one dimensional self centered ways...

I just watched it thanks to Oscottie! You have to remember KC had blue flags waiving for a few laps before he was even getting passed. As the blue flags come out once the last guy starts to get passed, from there they are pretty much waiving the whole time.

Now maybe KC pit board should have said get outta way RV . RD coming? You race you are not goign to keep looking out of the truns or behind you to see who is there...

Nothing major there I don't think!

The fact is that he was aware enough to use the blue flag to pass someone, but not aware enough to get the hell out of RV's and RD's way. It would be different if this was the first time this happened but history shows it is not. I think after lap 17 they should start giving the checkered flag to anyone that looks to be passed in the next 3 laps. Would not affect the outcome of the leaders and wouldn't penalize the riders that are being lapped. They would get the same position they were in when they got the checkered.

No mention of Boni moving over?

I guess Chisholm either neglected the blue flags or didn't see them. And if he didn't see them, he needs to get his vision checked.

hey feeble this is about your caption thing. you say, "if it wasn't for us, you would be speaking German" - US Marines

I come from a family of marines and this statement is false in the context you are using it in. The US Marines were in the Pacific Theatre during WW2, where they were dealing with the Japanese storming islands. Not in the European theatre fighting the Germans. Just pointing that out...
