'Formula 1 annoyed by new team names for AlphaTauri and Sauber'

It appears they don't like that Sauber will race under the name Stake F1 Team and that AlphaTauri is expected to race under the name Visa Cash App RedBull.

They don't like that they're named after sponsors.

They would absolutely hate MX/SX.

They didn't seem to have a problem with "RedBull" or "Alpha Tauri".

WTF?

Exactly. I don't get it.

Red Bull Oracle Racing.

I don't see any difference, but that's just me.

I am interested to see how they do ticket sales for this. If it is anything like Vegas they pump all the numbers immediately until the bottom quota is met and then release the rest to reduce the cost.

Charles Leclerc signed a multi-year contract extension with Ferrari and Lando Norris also signed a multi-year deal contract extension with McLaren.

The terms for both deals haven't been disclosed.

Well this sucks.

"No added value" is what the crooks running F1 had to say about Andretti entering the series.

Anyone who has followed this sport for years, remembers that Michael was never given ample testing time behind the wheel during his short stint as a driver.

Makes you wonder what the, long time, political animosity is regarding him and/or his family.

That sucks. I read that he had already started working on the car in the wind tunnel. It was a risk considering he hadn't yet received approval, but he must've been lead to believe his chances were going to be pretty good.

He started the work so that he could potentially be on the grid as early as next year.

Employees from Red Bull, Mercedes, and I believe another team already jumped ship to join Andretti.

I wonder if he'll keep pushing to try and get an entry or say fuck it and move on to something else.

It would have been great to have another team and Cadillac. I believe the long term plan was for Cadillac to have their own engine in 2028.

Hamilton to Ferrari for 2025 replacing Sainz. I didn't see that coming.

The Andretti decision is a disgrace, on the criteria they've set for entry only probably Red Bull would actually get in. It's insane.

Let the musical chairs begin! Lewis always wanted to drive for Ferrari, and the car should theoretically suit him, but with Charles this could get spicy. Also, now RB #2 seat became much more important due to Ferrari have 2 really good drivers. Checco imo can’t compete with them 2 regularly. So Sainz off to Audi and now Merc could sign Albon?

F1 is losing their new American fan base one greedy decision at a time. Makes it hard to continue to want to be a fan of a sport that denies entry to new competition. How can these teams and drivers be considered the best in the world if it's a membership only club?

A comment on the motorsport.com article said it best:

"And that's all you need to know.... its a business, not sports, not racing... business..... that world champion title should be an employee of the year title"

Now today they drop Hamilton news over a year early to try and cover the Andretti fallout.

What a joke.

That's where careers go to die.

They haven't done shit since Rory and Ross left in 2006.

They need some Brits there to turn it around again.

Like Flavio said when they asked him if he was going to move Benetton to Italy after they took over the Toleman team,  'You go to Italy for food, you go to France for wine, you stay in England for engineering'

Yep,

Michael and the Germans brought Ferrari back to prominence.

They've gone downhill and stagnated ever since.

Will never forget what Steve Machette said when they dumped Michael.

"The men in the black suits want their team back".

Leclerc and Sainz deserve better.

Will his ego be able to handle being the number two guy?

Charles is the number one over at Ferrari and I don't see that changing. His new deal is rumored to be through 2029.

I don't think Charles would have signed a long term extension if he would've known he'll be number two.

That’s why I believe things will get spicy. But I do think they will be formidable.

Vasseur is a really good driver manager, so I don't think they will remotely look at this as a 1-2 scenario and given that Lewis is strongest in races where Charles is stronger in Qualy, they should compliment each other well. There's zero chance Charles didn't know this was coming when he signed and even less chance Lewis signs a deal where he's a 2. I think we should put that idea to bed straight off.

On F1 at least that's partly true.

Regardless all of that though, don't be surprised if Hamilton takes some Mercedes personnel with him just like Schumacher did when he went there. Lewis and Vasseur both know Ferrari's weaknesses all too well, and Ferrari don't lack the money to make things happen. This isn't just an emotional decision to drive for the scuderia, Hamilton doesn't do anything unless it's going to give him a chance to win.

Hamilton moving to Ferrari surprised me; but hope he does well there. Just saw that in the news this afternoon on OAN of all places lol.
