Wife and I are planning to go watch the race live and make a weekend trip of it.

Starting to look at tickets, and trying to figure out what we should do.

General Admission

- Where do they stick you in relation to the track?

Reserved Seating

- Looks like you have to go thru the ticket websites as the track website shows sold out.

- Is it worth getting a seat? Tickets look to be $120+ a piece vs the general admission being 1/2 of that.

- Where is the best spot to pick a seat?

Trackside Access Pass

- is this worth getting? Doesn't have a description i can find anywhere that is remotely helpful.

My thought is we would likely wake up early and get there around 1pm. What should we do to get into qualifying and be able to make an afternoon/evening of it?

I bought tickets last year through Daytona's website on January 28th, I have a hard time believing they are sold out because they were far from sold out last year, maybe half of them still available when I bought mine. We got section 358  for reserved seating.

I believe GA you are either on the asphalt or by the infield which has limited visibility and you have to stand all day unless you want to sit on the ground. I would try to get sections 350-354 about halfway up.

I asked the question here last year and someone said to make sure you are above the catch fence, which we were, and they were right. E-mail them at Daytona and ask why more tickets aren't showing as available. My tickets were $70 each last year plus the fee of $5 per ticket, so $75 as an FYI when I bought through them. It was lower section of 358 and it was further from the center where they normally start, but seats were still good and could see the whole track well, I would have tried to be closer to the center, but they were all taken last year, maybe contacting them you can get something closer to the middle or find out where to get them.

Thanks. I just called and confirmed, only 2 reserved seats on the Daytona website.

Guessing someone came in and poached all of the tickets and that's why there are plenty on the reseller websites.

Did you get the trackside access last year?

No, we contemplated it but didn't get trackside access.

I liked GA. The seats are good height and right or left of the main center seats. This also gives you access to trackside for like an extra $10.. i liked it along the track because its intense and could keep track fine. My parents hated standing on the incline though.
