How are the ONE Trooper's size and fitment wise, compared to Shoei and Arai's?

I wear size Medium in my VFX-R DT & VX2 and togheter with a sweatbeanie, they fit perfect (especially the Shoei).

The reason for asking is becuase I'm looking at buying a Bailey Replica, but none of the local dealers have ONE-helmets on the shelf (every other brand though), so I can't try it out.

Thanks!

Measure your head 1 inch above the eyebrow and at the largest part of the back of your head.

Thanks for the responses, but not one of you answered my actuall question...

"How are the ONE Trooper's size and fitment wise, compared to Shoei and Arai's"?

I want to know if their size M really fits like a Shoei, Arai or Fox size M? Becuase I read somewhere that they are kind of big (a ONE in size Small is more like a Medium in Shoei, Arai & Fox).

mmcmx: You can still find the Bailey Replica on sites around the world.

you wont know until you try it on. i do know that arai small helmets can be trimmed a couple mm here and there (without sacrificing integrity) to fit like a medium helmet.

They are made by KBC, so try on a KBC for size. As far as fitment, Arai and Shoei will be hard to beat in comfort.

whatever is the helmet brand you are going to go for, you really need to try it and then adapt the fit with different sizes cheek-pads and/or crown pads if needed.

Hey Swede, you know it's possible to dye that blue tank of yours? It would look nicer black with that yellow plastics than the blu in your avtar.

Go to Thumpertalk to the YZ forum, people are doing this rather often with good results!

I have a Shoei head VFX-DT , The One helmet doesn't feel good on my head. Pressure points, all in L. Arai and TLD SE2 feel good to me. That may help.

The One helmet is EXCELLENT. I've even tested it...the Hard-Way...during Open Practice at Mammoth...in the Rocks.

It's a bit heavier than some helmets; however, that seems to go with the extra materials they have in the shell.

You should always TRY to spend some time in a helmet, jus' wearing it on your head for 15 minutes or so, before you buy it.

Good luck!

DO NOT buy a helmet without trying it on first, then, when you find one that fits nice, buy the next size down. All helmets gain one size when broken in. Way too many people are wearing helmets that are too big, and that's dangerous.

I bought a Bailey replica size medium this fall ( on ebay for $100). My helmet size is 71/8 .Have owned an Arai road bike helmet (Signet)and a few HJC ,Bell, Icon size medium that fit perfect. Fox Pro Pilot medium is a little big.
The Trooper is tight on me in the cheek pads and a bit loose on top. The fit feels weird to me. Only rode in it two times so it will break in some.
This helmet looks great on the shelf and I'm glad I got it but will be looking for a deal on a Moto8 or TLD to wear.
I 100% agree on trying on a helmet before buying but sometimes the on line deals are too good to pass up
