Ouch. Wasn’t aware of that. That’s too bad.

He sold the dealership a few months ago, the new owners name is over the door now. So Cobequid Mountain doesn't really exist anymore. I haven't been in since the change. They had their annual open house yesterday but not a good time for me. New owner does have Gas Gas as a brand on their website. I did see him post when he announced the sale that he would still be into the race team thing. In some capacity. But have seen or read nothing since.

Given your proximity - keep us posted.

Are there any teams looking for hidden European gems?

Yeah, retired in 2023. He had a few offers but said he needed to step back from the sport.

He did an interview recently and noted he would come back to racing if KTM ever knocked on his door. He noted how fast and proven the bikes are.

Any riders in particular?

Wasn't thinking about someone in particular, but there are always good riders from ADAC, FFM, Dutch Masters who aren't backed 100% or are looking for a nice adventures.

Good question.

I believe it will be fairly similar to last year but unfortunately the series is quite slow at posting next years schedule.

Hoping they make it back here, I know Edmonton wasn't real popular with the riders but it sure seemed like it could be a great event with some changes. I know we enjoyed it.

Based on feedback, I believe the venue was thought to be solid - however - the execution of the event itself was in question. I think the track was built last minute, which folks didn't understand why since it was round #1. All comes back to smaller budget for the series and unfortunately no title sponsor.

Bob the Cooler co. is the title sponsor of the series.

Tracking. I guess what I meant to say was - a meaningful financial sponsor of the series.

Likely near impossible to get back to this number - but apparently the Monster Energy sponsorship dollar valuation many years ago was approx. $250-500k to the series.

I don't know what their financial commitment is, but I would think it's not Monster or Rockstar type of money.

They have a multi-year deal, so that's good.

Monster Energy was apparently 500k. True or not, I don't know. Wouldn't surprise me.

Just going to throw it out there, anyone miss Stallybrass yet?

A few tidbits of news floating around

-Manluk is out, not returning from what I have heard.

-GDR Honda is doing some rebuilding by the sounds of it. Digger is extremely competitive and has the Newf helping out as always. It's a dynamic duo that will continue to race at the same level, one way or another.

-Parker Eales will be on Priority Mechanical with likely his own gear deal. Priority is now receiving some support from KTM Canada, J Roney is spinning the wrenches on their bikes, but will be Jess Pettis race mechanic in 24'.

- Congrats to the WLTN Team for scooping up Steve Simms, this will be a great fit after a learning year for the team. Kudo's to making moves directly related to their weaknesses.

- Cobequid seemingly vanished, and left sponsors & racers left hanging. Which is unfortunate, they were a great addition for a few years. But, add it to the long list of teams who come in with a bang, and left with a bang

- Rumours of no BC outdoor national round at this point, but that could change as well

Overall, dealers and manufactures are loaded up with the largest inventory in over a decade. This means money being spent on LOC's monthly. There is rebates flying around like crazy on motorcycles, which is a clear sign of over stocked inventory. I would expect for racing budgets to be dialed back. However, Motocross is largely a passion driven sport, especially in Canada. Cheers to the outsiders who support our race series, teams and individuals with their personal investments.

That's good data. Thank you. I've made the change to Parker/Priority Mx on the main page.

It's the slowest Dec/Nov/Oct/Sept in the industry I've seen in a long time......could be tough times for motocross racing support....
