Girlfriends bike has started acting funny. Pretty much always have to pull the cold start knob to get it to actually start and run whether it’s hot or cold. Now it’s getting to the point where that’s not always working. I put a new fuel pump in it and same thing, new spark plug and same thing. Without the cold start knob pulled it will run for about 2 seconds and shut back off. Air filter is good, fuel is good, checking valves is next on my list unless someone has another idea. We purchased it new and she is far from hard on a bike, it’s got maybe 30-40hrs on it. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
Did it sit for awhile? Clean injector
It has not sat, gets ridden 2-3 times a month.
You need to check the intake valve clearance. I’d bet they are too tight and cause the bike to be difficult to start.
