Most of my life ive been on Honda's or Yamaha's. Looking for a cheaper alternative, yet still be competitive. Yes i know all 450s are good. Ive been racing for 28 years. When im in shape i can get around pretty decent. Id still jump the leap under the right conditions.

I loved my 23 yz450 that was recently stolen. I don't like the 11,500 price tag. Same with my 21 works edition (also stolen). I loved the hit and tight cornering ability of both.

My options are:

15 hour old guy ridden 19rmz450 for 4000. Would likely want to do suspension, link, high compression piston, pipe, and motor mounts. Maybe ecu if i wanted more. Roughly $2500.. So, around 6500-7000..

8 hour lightly ridden 23kx450sr for 8000. Id likely throw springs in and run it. Maybe sell xtrigs to replace with adjustable offset version to aid in inside line handling. Probably close to a wash monetarily.

18 hour old guy ridden 19kx450 for 4500. Now i rode a regular 22kx450 and felt like it was lethargic compared to my previous bikes. Everyone says the SR is better in that regard. I feel like a stock 19, id need to do atleast ecu, maybe more, plus suspension. Maybe 21 offset clamps. I'd prob end up north of 6000 this route as the bike already has a full fmf. Being a 19, maybe some bearings, sliders, things like that..

Looking for insightful opinions!

The frame is amazing. Stable like a cruise ship but still turns just as good as my Honda did. I wasn't anti-hydro or pro cable either but the hydro clutch is so nice. I only have 3 hours but haven't found anything about the bike that I don't like. Stock suspension valving is also really good. I've never NOT gotten any of my bikes valved but I think I'm going to just try stiffer springs first. That 2019 sounds like a good deal if the guy took care of it. The 23SR for 8 isn't a bad deal either.

SR no question based on all the work you’d want to do on the RMZ.
