Kids shouldn’t race Supercross

Just watched two kids scorpion themselves, there’s safer ways for them to develop. Hope that kid they were working on after the finish line is ok, cause it didn’t look good. This sport is dangerous enough.

This isnt a supercross track at all. The only prob was they made the finish line jump too big for the minis to do consistently, but that can happen anywhere.

Granted they are most likely jumping stuff as big if not bigger during the week but agree they don’t need the pressure to jump it when the conditions aren’t perfect and there is a crowd watching them so they feel they need to keep it pinned

Wey didn’t crash on the finish line jump, I just have a hard time believing these kids should be out there. I do understand this is not a “supercross” track but what reason is there for kids to be racing in this environment with all the fans and pressure to perform from being on tv? Just an opinion, but it makes me sick to my stomach watching kids eat shit like that when they could cause life long issues at an age when they can’t comprehend the ramifications. All they know is send it, and on a track like this that has serious consequences when it goes wrong.

Yea when I went on instagram earlier in the day there was a bunch of videos of the superminis casing the shit out of that jump over n over. Not sure why they wouldnt have went in with the dozer and fixed it up a bit to make it safer. Theres plenty of things they could do that wouldnt have ruined the jump for the big bikes.

Wey crashed on a very normal sized double and this is not supercross.  These are the best kids in the country, not C class......moto is dangerous and they control their right hand.  The second kid who crashed was going to drive all night and race a GNCC that started at 7:30 tomorrow morning.  You could argue thats not a good plan either, but racing at the highest level is a narrow margin......just like the injuries we see every year.  Barcia, Forkner, Tomac, Anderson, Craig etc etc

I don’t know man, just made me upset if I’m being honest. I have kids coming up on that age, and I just hope they’re both ok especially the Richards kid. He wasn’t moving and they were working on him on the track, which tells me they didn’t feel comfortable moving him. Super sad and unnecessary.

What does "scorpion themselves" mean?   Never heard that term.

Its when u crash head first and your back bends with your legs coming up over the front like a scorpion.

Barcia, Forkner, Tomac, Anderson and Craig are grown adults who get paid millions of dollars to race their motorcycles. Not children, yes they are very talented and amazing riders but they need time to develop into technical Supercross riders.

Again, not a SX track.......you're making it sound like they are forced to go out there.  How many kids get hurt at Lorettas every year just in the 1st turn??  Not 0....

I’m not saying coddle them, just don’t see the advantage of it. But we all saw the danger associated. Again praying the Richards kid is ok.

I always thought it was a terrible idea to have the fast kids riding these tracks on the main show. If one of these kids gets really wadded up or paralyzed on a live broadcast you're going to see a shit storm coming for moto.

50s are different. They roll almost every thing.

I’m gonna agree to disagree with you. Loretta’s and this course are not comparable and I think you know that, wasn’t discrediting the danger of our sport, we all know the risks involved. But in my opinion mitigating those risks is important.

Sure.  The best kids in the country should be on tracks with nothing but rollers and tabletops.

Sure. Don’t learn from our mistakes and there won’t be tracks with any types of obstacles for kids to race on.

Show me where you had a problem with the Monster cup and the same kids hucking SX triples and rhythms

Show me the rutted faces and landing at Monster Cup and again, no problem with AMs riding it on full sized bikes. But that’s fine, put a spotlight in the sport for the wrong reasons, I’m way off base

Definitely some cringey moments today. I agree it appears the machines are just a bit too small to ride the same track the top guys in the world do. Amateur all stars on the 250f bikes are fine. Don’t think anything lower than that needs to be on the identical tracks that the top 450 riders are on.

If kids start casing triples and endowing 20 feet into the air and landing on their heads on Electric 50s, then I would say yes we should. But that’s not what we are talking about is it?

Go to that kids Instagram. He sends supercross triples on surrons. The problem tonight was the sticky dirt from the rain they got throughout the day
