Just Bought my Son a 23 FC250 When/Why Should I sent the Forks out to be set up for him? He is about 120 lbs and a mid pack C rider 15 years old. We set the air pressure to 150lbs and bike seems to be working well. Just don't know the benefit of sending the forks out being so new. (has only 6 hours on them) Thanks for any advice.
Send it to Factory Connection. The stock suspension isn't bad, but it's way better after a re-valve and it's set-up for your weight/ability.
At 120lbs you can get away with lowering air pressure on the fork and you will probably need a lighter main shock spring, oem optional springs are best value and best fit vs aftermarket.
If you follow the manual, it will enable you to balance the chassis for him and learn how to set the bike up. All you need is a tape measure I millimeters.
If you have loads of cash and don't want to learn anything, then send it out.
