PJ1---Where is it now?

I was a PJ1 riders back when I was supposed to be somebody. I remember getting my first manila envelope stuffed to the gills with those thick 12 mil visor stickers!

I remember that Jimmy Button was married to P's daughter I think, and that PJ1 was a title sponsor of Button's race team around 1996 or so, and that was really the last I heard of any major presence that they had.

Anyone know the story?

WOW PJ1 doesn't ring a bell to you? Have you been involved with motocross for more than a few years? Their logo was iconic! I believe they also made VHP Paint or something like that.

They still have a website but it looks kinda old

Yea man I know who PJ1 is. Ive got a can of that stuff from way back. And yea that yellow and black logo is Iconic, was plastered on James Stewart on his Shoei when he was on that PW50! I got confused if you were asking about Jimmy Button's team, that is where I misunderstood.

I used black for years until I switched over to maxima chain wax. I think there's still an old can floating around the garage.

My last memory of PJ1 was McGrath running one of their stickers in respect of the frame paint and his oil company sponsor getting all pissy about it.

Maybe it was the McGrath Mafia (J/K here) but have not heard about them or seen their product ever since.

haha, I was watching Trailer Park Boys' new movie last night and someone offered to pay someone else in Canadian Tyre dollars for monies owed!

Yeah, I remember when PJ1 was HUGE at Loretta's - their main man for amateur mx

was a super-nice gentleman named Steve. He'd give all the 50cc riders that "top-tenned"

sponsorship deals and was just a very genuine and warm fellow.

You def don't hear much about them - as someone said, I do recall Jimmy Button

marrying into the family, too.

I remember him & them very well.
While yrs. ago now, my late great
pal, Al Baker was great friends with PJ.
He always used to come by the shop,
& he even built himself a cool building
in the valley where we all lived.............
granted this is 25 plus yrs. ago!
