I tried to make the title of this thread, as small, and concise as possible. To clarify that statement a bit more: What lessons have you learned from "professional motocross racers", that you apply in your non-moto daily lives?

For me, it's hard work and determination, taught by Ricky Carmichael. Through my bachelors degree (and soon to be graduate degree), and then as a "people helper" who will constantly be encouraging people that, "THEY CAN!" Who live in a world of "Can't, Can't, Can't."

I've always thought about Ricky Carmichael's determination and grit when times have gotten tough. Him professionally racing a motorcycle, has simply inspired to put in my best effort on certain things in life. And as a rule of thumb: I figure if anybody puts 10% of what Carmichael did into racing - into their personal lives - they could be way more successful than the average American (which has an extremely lazy culture). Ricky said it best in an interview, "In a world where everything is made to make things easier and easier, people don't know what it's like to REALLY work hard." Those are such incredible words. Think of the society we live into day, and all the people throughout history who really had to bust their ass (not just in sports). He also said on his X-games interviews, "Everyone wants to be number one, but when it comes time to putting in the work, they don't really really want it."

I plan on carrying those characteristics learned from Ricky, for the rest of my life.

So,

Anyone else do the same???

In addition to your RC motivation I will add:

From Chad Reed, Never be afraid to bet on yourself.

Crime doesn't pay and neither does moto for the most part.
