I need to know what kind of filler rod to use to fill two holes in my swingarm so it doesn't show after anodizing. I used 4043 and got it anodized, and the process discolored the fillings (see the two dark spots in the second photo). I'm going to drill them back out and redo them using the right rod. It's a 1996 RM250 but I would imagine most brands use the same alloy?

Thank you that's helpful, but why will 6061 filler crack if the base metal is 6061?
6061 has issues with solidification cracking. I doubt you can even find 6061 filler as they probably don't even make it. Welding 6061 with 6061 filler will result in a failed weld. You need a different alloy that won't crack when solidifying, like 4043 or 5356.

5356 still left some contrast, but it's much better. Depends on lighting and angle.
