Interesting points. I’ve been thinking a lot about this the past couple of years - with the addition of Chase & Jett’s style being displayed. My theory is the bikes these kids grew up on. Older riders spent their childhood & at least some of their teenage/adult years muscle-ing a 2 stroke around. Remember RC hanging off the back of his bike? Eli still to this day rear wheel steering the bike? Same with the bullet. The younger generation - mostly came from 4 strokes…which benefit from a smooth throttle & that tractor lug.

EH?

Jet rode from 4 to 15yr old on 2stroke only

The stupidest shit I hear is kids these days don't know how to ride a 2 stroke.

Every kid rode a 2 stroke from a pw to and 85 or super mini. (Except the 2% that rode crf150r). Then a bunch still rode 125s.

Then they race 250s and c grade keyboard warriors say. Ohhh kids these days don't know how to ride a 2 stroke like I did back in the day. Jett would be passing those guys on there 450s at 10 on a 65.

Gotta agree, look at any kids class in any country, then look at the 125 classes at Loretta's, look at the YZ 125 Cup, EMX 125... Kids and a lot of the older youngsters seem to get some healthy two stroke time in.

To the OPs question, and I know a comment above was posted about how we all rode two strokes during our mini days, and I get that, but some folks (myself included), can't seem to get over having to have fingers (1 or 2) on the clutch like a two stroke well beyond the mini days.  I still feel like I have to slip the clutch like a 125 when I don't, still thinking I need fingers on the clutch for stalling when I don't.  I guess just muscle memory and habit.  I got so sick of riding my 350 like a 125, I bought a 125 again.

It might just be me or 1 or two other vet age riders, but getting the fingers off of the clutch is a habit I can't seem to break.

I don't think Eli steers with the rear that much.  But RV, definitely.
