Anyone try the new WP steering dampener for Husky ? Came with no paper work at all. Assuming that turning adjuster screw in gives it more dampening , but it doesn’t seem to do anything at all , feels the same and there is no resistance at the bars slow or fast speeds .
Send it back and get a Scott’s or Precision Racing Products Damper.
I have used Scotts for years since they came out , but they did not have a mount for the new platform on the Husky so I went with the WP , just thinking I might have a defective one

The first one should feel similar to a Scotts. The second one will never feel like a Scotts; it's not a steering damper at all in the way a Scotts is.

The 2nd doesn’t feel like anything , lol. Doesn’t slow bar movement at all , I get that it doesn’t have the slow and high speed valving like Scotts. But even with full in or full out on the adjuster screw. No change. It could be bad. Just wondering if anyone had feed back on theirs
It's not bad, you're just expecting it to do something it wasn't designed to do. That WP damper is a knock off of the Honda HPSD damper. Neither is a steering damper in the traditional sense. They just help to stabilize things at high steering angles only and will do absolutely nothing when the wheel is pointed straight.
Turn the bars and watch how much the shaft moves. For a small amount of the bars turning, It doesn't move at all when the wheel is pointed straight (or nearly straight). But for the same amount of turning, it moves much more when the wheel is turned quite a bit. This is by design and just how it works.
It was not intended to preform the same function as a Scotts. The Scotts damper is nearly the opposite, it will slow the bar movement regardless of steering angle. If you want something that functions similar to that, check out the Precision Parabolic damper.
